Anybody here been there? Me and the fiancé are looking at a resort there and would like some feedback on experiences there if you have any.
Or suggestions on maybe a different place for a honeymoon. Going in October.

Wife and I went to the Excellence there. Loved every second of it. I would definitely look into it.

Did y'all do any excursions? We just want to do snorkeling mostly. Sit on our arses rest of time!

We did but honestly it wasn’t worth it. We did it through the resort and it was a last minute decision. I wish we would have done more due diligence beforehand. The spots had potential, we just didn’t have the best guides.

For excursions or tours of any kind, I recommend using Viator.com.
I’ve used them in key west/Boston/nYC and Iceland and whatever I wanna do at whatever price range I want is available.

I’m also going to Excellence in a month on my honeymoon. Everything I’ve read and heard from people is that it’s a great and newly renovated resort. 11 restaurants. We are doing the swim with the dolphin excursion and snorkeling. It to thrilled about them beings I hate the ocean
Our whole trip was about $5k with flights for 6 nights

Just don’t go in mid summer. The sea weed is awful. So bad they have trucks hauling it off the beach.

Stayed a 5 days at the Royalton. It was good but you need to be in the diamond club. Go to the martini bar every night. We didn’t leave the resort. Saw a dead body on the way in. Was a car wreck and they were covering the guy with palm leaves

Ask for the Extra Viejo Brugal. It's behind the bar usually hidden. They have it, but you have to ask for it.

I recommend Hispaniola Aquatic Adventures for a snorkeling/booze cruise. The snorkeling ain't all that great depending on the amount of surf on the reef they go to, but the cruise itself was a blast. I definitely would do it again. I booked it through trip advisor prior to the trip.

went to the Hard Rock in PC a couple years ago. We had a good time but I would suggest Isla Mujeres over PC. Not only a much better experience, but cheaper. You will def have a good time in PC, just offering a suggestion.

I did my honeymoon in Jamaica, but did 1st anniversary trip in Punta Cana. Spent half the money on the trip to the DR than I did in Jamaica, and had a better time.
We stayed at the Now Larimar - it was a solid resort with typical resort food. Nothing spectacular, but everything was above average. Rooms were average to slightly above average. Beach was great. Pools were solid. We actually made money at the casino. I would definitely stay there again, but not sure I’d do it for my honeymoon as kids are allowed and I wanted adults only on the honeymoon, though I certainly wouldn’t fault anyone for doing it for theirs.

Times have changed. 50 years ago got married drove to Pensacola motel and spent 6 days without going in the sunshine. Room service from the local pizza and hamburger joints. Returned to the Lsu married apts and started senior year. It was great...

Went a few years ago with the wife and kids and stayed at the Hard Rock. The food was pretty good. Really nice pools and great views. The waves were a lot rougher than I was expecting but the water looked good. Felt a lot safer than places I have been in Mexico.

We stayed at the excellence for our honeymoon as well.
Enjoyed it.
Make sure you arrange for someone from the resort to pick you up from the airport.
