I would suggest watching Supersonic (Trailer). Excellent documentary that encapsulates the first 4-5 years of Oasis (peak years). I've always had a soft spot for the Gallaghers and still consider them in my top 5 favorite bands.
Slide Away is their best song and Definitely Maybe is their best album in my opinion. The Masterplan is their second best album. If you haven't discovered that album, I suggest downloading it ASAP. Cloudburst, One Way Road, Spaceman are some other B-sides I highly recommend.
I've seen NGHFB three times. The first two were great. I didn't like the newest show, but that's probably because I really didn't like the new album very much.

Absolutely. Most people who think of Oasis as that band with fighting brothers and "Wonderwall" have no idea about the incredible debut that is Definitely Maybe.

Nah. I'd say they were ill fashioned peg to fill the hole that the Stone Roses never occupied (THEY were pegged to be the new Beatles, but poor/crooked management derailed them).

Great flick. Their rise was insane.

They're one of my favorite bands and put on a GREAT show when I saw them in 2005. That said, the Oasis sound is Bonehead and Noel. Liam was solid in his prime but he fell off and hasn't recovered. Noel's voice has gotten better with age.

They have so many good tunes it is hard to pick a favorite but my top 5 is probably:

1) Live Forever. It hits me in the feels like no other. My granddad and I were extremely close and I played this on his guitar as he took his final breaths. That was last January. Still can't listen to it without getting a little misty eyed.
2) Whatever. B-side but great.
3) Slide Away. Me and my first love's song.
4) Don't Look Back in Anger. It propelled them to stardom for a reason.
5) Fade Away. Classic tune.

Anyway, Neil has publicly recognized that Blur's Graham Coxon is a great guitarist.

I think he and Damon of Blur are also often in contact now.
