It’s sad that Zulu was the first major parade organization to integrate in 1973 but every one else had to be forced in 1992 but we are the ones who are being considered racist.
@girlslikemetoo @girlslikemetoo twitter feed turns blackface debate into covert white racism arguments

Black face as a tradition started by being oppressed , impoverished, and non-included VERSUS black face as a tradition mocking the oppressed, slavery, and racism... they aren’t the same @WWLTV @wdsu @NOLAnews
And y’all reporting this foolishness will jeopardize your views.
Y’all know damn well stripping the black face tradition from The Zulu Social Aid & Pleasure Club is yet another covert gentrifying prejudice attack on blacks’ cultural identity.
And you all are trash for reporting the content.
@wdsu since you all have not reported it yet, please bring awareness to the covert racist attack on Zulu’s black face tradition.
On the topic of RACE AND MARDI GRAS, lets get into the history. How blacks weren’t unable to participate (with an exception to flambeaux carriers) until 1994 and lets roll the footage of St. Aug high school’s Marching 100 being assualted their first parade.
Replying to @girlslikemetoo @Lah_Hoodrich and 3 others
Funny not one person has said anything Rex’s klan costumes or how they fought for years not to change them

Like they've said numerous times, their "black face" is just a mask... and it's blacks and whites painting their faces...
These assholes need to drop it...

The best part of this is that there are SJW white people telling the black people they are racist for wearing black face.
What is happening in this world?

Now, how can you strip blackface from a black person? They still black.

This is America brought to you by Barry Obama and Trayvon Martin. That singular incident and Obama's response to it shaped the current racial climate in this country.

this is easily sorted out. Let king Zulu himself weigh in. Either defend it, or "update his thinking"

People want to ignore history. People want to tear down statues. Then one day, when we are all at each other's throats again for real, we'll wonder why.
I just laugh at the ignorance of certain folks. The ones wanting Zulu and Mardi Gras to change are barking up the wrong tree. No where in the world are people as fiercely protective of their traditions as in New Orleans. This wont end well.

Mardi Gras as a whole shows the debauchery of America and our fall from grace. Needs to be shut down.

I had to read that a couple times to make sure I understood the premise they proposed
That's either a brilliant troll or one of the most incredible mental gymnastics feats of all time

I think every NOLA resident needs to wear black face this Mardi Gras to shut these frickers up.

It’s not actually. Obama gave his two cents on the matter and everything took off from there. This is why America is the way it is today.
