Chelsea FC: You’re Abramovich, buying or selling Sarri?

Just popping in to say I love the disfunction with chelsea they deserve all the bad things that happen to them.

He is prepared to lose his job before changing his tactics. I can’t decide if I think this is just brilliant or downright stupid. It’s too early to tell for sure but the way he’s performing I don’t think he will last long enough to find out.

Also, I think Chelsea effed up by getting rid of Conte.

Conte wanted to scrap the deadwood on the squad, but apparently that didn't fly eith ownership/management.

Also: playing Kante out of position should be a fireable offense in itself.

Sarri isn't an issue. The issue is the club has no clear strategy other than winning in the here and now. They don't build toward anything.

Sarri is a fine manager. He has done well and played beautiful football wherever he's gone. Unfortunately, our club doesn't back managers. We hired a guy who plays a specific style and then didn't give him the players he needed to suit that style. We signed Jorginho in the summer and Higuain now at the last second in January. We desperately need upgrades at every position in the back four. We need someone to fill that third midfield spot. We need a competent RW. We also went into the season with Conte running training sessions. The club is just mismanaged from the top down. Sarri's system is complex. It'll take time to master. You also have to remember Chelsea's squad has been trained to do almost the opposite of what Sarri wants since Mourinho took back over. He played defensive and on the counter. Conte also is known for a resolute/compact team. Now those same guys (some capable, others not) are having to flip a switch and try the exact opposite style almost.

The club recruits players it can sell on for profit (or at little to no loss), even if they don't pan out for us. It's not targeted like Liverpool or City who have brought in guys that suit exactly what they're going for. Chelsea is just a collection of players, and the squad has less of an attachment to the crest every year, and I hate when people say corny stuff like this. CHO needs to play every game and be convinced to stay. RLC needs to be used more, even just for the club culture. Reece James should get a look next season.

It sounds so dorky, but you went from a spine of Cech, Terry, Lampard, Drogba to whatever this is now. Those four guys + others (Ivanovic, Cole, etc) would've gone to war for each other. This season, the only guys I feel like who have covered themselves in glory are Kante and Kepa. Dave I think has the right mindset, but he's clearly struggled moving back to RB.

Conte’s Undoing was firing Diego costa without consulting anyone else. If he had made amends he’d still have a job and we’d still be in the top 4 mix. Thats what started all of this mess.

Chelsea need a goal scorer not named eden. Conte burned bridges with the best striker to wear blue since Didier then summarily got the axe. Turns out Morata isn’t the answer to fill that void, now it’s Gonzalo’s turn to try before he and Sarri retire together from the Prem.

Lol it ain’t right whatever it is. I expected to see a change long before now but he’s so damn stubborn. I agree. This is where the rubber meets the road and we find out just how committed Chelsea are to seeing this play out. You’d have to think they saw this day coming, made the commitment anyway, and are prepared to take the ride wherever it leads.
