Monsterdoc, the jaded jam band fans are saying the old 97s sucked. However, you know how to melt faces in a Baton Rouge crowd, and you say it was good. I don’t know who to believe.

I hope it did well enough for them to do it again next year.

I think it exceeded expectations by a lot actually. it was a packed crowd out there at around 3:30 till the end.
next year is set for june 27th

Im glad it did well, but it was FAR from packed.
I got there at 4 and couldve put my chairs anywhere on the lawn, it was like that all night.
It was well attended for a first year festival in june, but lets not pretend it was blues fest or even live after five packed.

Lol. Its not like i was sitting there for 4 hours or anything.
Pit had people in it.
Lawn was half empty, not sure why you keep trying to spin it.

blues fest has been happening for 25 years or something like that and is a well established festival. I know that blues fest sold like 50 something VIP tickets and bandito sold over 250 at $100 a piece.

there were at least the same amount of people out there saturday as a live after 5 that i've gone to this year and what's great about that is it was all original alt country-rock bands instead of cover bands like live after 5 books. It was a giant win for progressing original music acts coming through town for these kind of festivals.
Rumor is drive by truckers for next year. I think lucero and sarah shook and the disarmers would be nice fits as well. Keeping with the alt country type theme for bands that are affordable and put on good shows. American Aquarium would be a no brainer for this festival as well.

Cool man. You win. There were millions of people there and it was the greatest festival in the history of baton rouge.

The early shows weren't packed, but it was hot as shite out in the sun, so people weren't sitting in the middle of the lawn in the direct sun. As the sun started setting during Son Volt, the crowd filled in nicely. It was an absolutely fantastic free festival. Anyone who says otherwise is just being an arse.
