The Lakers current FO(and former ones too) have a history of tampering. Along with Klutch and LeBron, they have been planting seeds all year.
Demps has more experience than RP and Magic. He out maneuvered them for the time being. Magic is pissed about it.
Turnabout is fair play.
Rich Paul & Magic have internet just like you & I'm aware they knew it was a Hail Mary. See Kawhi Leonard ( request for Clippers / L.A.) , Paul George , Chris Paul asking N.O. to trade him to the Knicks.
They are aware teams would probably be Petty/ vindictive towards any trade destination request from a player.

-Bron decides AD is the guy he can use to get him to GOAT status he so desperately craves.
-Lakers and co. know they don’t have the assets to trade for him nor can they wait until 2020 to sign him as a FA.
-through pure arrogance they thought they could strong arm a little brother franchise into giving them what they want for pennies on the dollar because well we’re the Lakers and Lebron.
- Through back channels they all tried to sabotage his trade value to any other suitors.
Yet we acted in bad faith? How none of this was seen as obvious collusion by the league office amazes me.
