LSU Basketball Season begins Tuesday night (Only 8 Games Left)

LSU has done what they needed to do to put themselves in great position for the NCAA Tournament up until this point of the season.
19-4 Overall, 9-1 SEC (2nd)
Home: 12-1
Road: 5-1
Neutral: 2-2
RPI: 12
SOS: 17
Non-Conf SOS: 13
But none of this means anything anymore. The season comes down to the final eight games. Since we have not played any SEC team that is ranked anywhere near the Top-10, the UK and UT games are critical to our NCAA Tournament Seedings. If we lose them both, we will have an ugly record vs. Top-25 teams and the cloud over our head that we haven't really beaten anyone. But if we can beat UK or UT, or both, then they will start to really see us as a legit threat.
2/12 - @ #5 Kentucky (20-3, 9-1)
2/16 - @ Georgia (10-13, 1-9)
2/20 - vs. Florida (12-11, 4-6)
2/23 - vs. #1 Tennessee (21-1, 10-0)
2/26 - vs. Texas A&M (9-13, 2-8)
3/2 - @ Alabama (14-8, 5-4)
3/6 - @ Florida (12-11, 4-6)
3/9 - vs. Vanderbilt (9-13, 0-9)
19-4 Overall, 9-1 SEC (2nd)
Home: 12-1
Road: 5-1
Neutral: 2-2

I think we finish 5-3. 24-7 overall record. Would be a great season. I see us with a 4 seed.

Of course it means something. WTF?

Those are the the #1 and #7 teams in the country. Don't be so dramatic

6-2. Losses to Kentucky and Bama. Could have a shot at a 3 seed.

I disagree. If we lose both I think people will say they are really good teams

Well this is just flat out wrong.
LSU now has a 5-2 record in Q1 games. And the two wins this week definitely qualify as “beating someone”. The top 25 polls are completely meaningless
3 of the NCAA 4 seeds (announced this morning) all lost today while LSU won. I suspect if the top 16 seeds were announced tomorrow instead of today, LSU would be in that group.
LSU is playing with house money vs UK. It would be a HUGE win, but by no means a must win.
The season “started” a long time ago...not this upcoming Tuesday.

I like our chances on all of those games with @UK being the toughest.
WW has taken away the fear of facing top competition.

OP has some good stats, but what we have done so far means very, very much. If we were 5-5 (like Auburn) now instead of 9-1, life would be quite different for us going forward.
We play 31 games in regular season. We have played 23 of them and are 19-4. Because of how well we've done so far, we can lose @UK and to Tennessee and not suffer much in the NET.

UT and Kentucky are going to end up no.1 and no.2 seed. One of them will make final 4. They are that good. Season started in November and we are in the tourney. We are not a final 4 team. That doesn't mean we suck because cannot beat 2 top 10 teams.

Polls are garbage at weighing quality wins. Anyone who would say that LSU hasn't beaten anyone knows nothing of what they're talking about.
Mississippi State, Auburn and Ole Miss are all top 25 caliber teams, regardless of whether they were ranked at the time LSU beat them or not. And two of those wins were on the road. They also beat a good Furman team. They were ranked at the time, but probably were never seriously a top 25 team, yet still they are a quality team who beat Villanova. And Villanova is getting more love than LSU, these days.

Kentucky will be looking ahead to it’s Saturday matchup against Tennessee. We’re gonna catch em overconfident and sleeping on LSU.

It's hard to imagine them overlooking a team that's 9-1 in conference, but I hope you're right.
Regardless, I think LSU matches up with them better than some think.

LSU is 12-1 since You melted all over my “ be patient this team will be fine “ thread the night of the Houston loss. A little premature emeltulation on your part.

Bull fricking shite.
What we have done up to this point absolutely means something. It means we have almost made ourselves a lock for the NCAA tournament. Almost anything, short of losing every remaining game, means we are in the tourney.

Ummmm..well, since there are only 10 teams ranked in the top 10, it is pretty difficult to play many top 10 teams. It's kind of a numbers thing. If we lose to both UK and Tennessee, and win every other game, for a 15-3 finish in SEC play, do you know how much it will hurt our seed in the tournament? Not much at all. These two games will not even come close to breaking LSU's season. It could vault us up some, but losing wouldn't be the end of the world.
Just like with baseball, your takes are pretty terrible. Get a new hobby, because your thread making abilities suck.

4-4 with 2 wins in SEC Tourney.
25 wins and a 4 seed in the tourney.

I think we lose Kentucky, Tennessee, and Bama.

I was just saying to myself man LSU at 9-1 is huge. Granted there was periods where conference games was only 16 total but a 13 or 14 win season is special. Only once has LSU won more than 14 games and the last time they won 14 was 05-06 and the final four year. This is probably the best season in a decade. I wonder if the rant realizes this.......I guess the answer is nope.

LSU Basketball Season begins Tuesday night
We had to win 2/3 to right the ship heading into conference and then that's all she wrote
These next 8 games are relatively unimportant insofar as we just need to win the games we're supposed to and go 4-4 or 5-3, lock up a 4/5 seed and get ready to dance
