Where do y’all workout in Baton Rouge? I currently have an alumni membership at the Urec but it gets overly packed by the time I get off work. I’m in the hunt for a new gym. I’m considering Anytime or Snap but I’m not sure if they have barbells for olympic lifts. Their sites show only Smith machines from what I can tell.

Any recommendations?

The three Anytime locations I've been to in BR all have squat racks and barbells.

Stay at the URec and hit on the college poon.

I would post the Doc Swole story about lifting in the college gym, but it appears Chicken has a bot that prevents me from posting it. It gives me the STOP sign and I know it doesn’t exceed the character limit.

I haz a sad.

I workout at Foxy’s off S. Airline. It’s old, but everything works. However, don’t be coming at my power rack when I’m lifting or I WILL frick YOU UP. I mean, um, I’ll buy you a smoothie.

Expensive, but if you want equipment CrossFit boxes are great. You can join and not do classes. Some CrossFit affiliates have coaches certified in powerlifting and Olympic lifts. I left because of $$ and schedule. Grunt, use chalk, slam weights, etc... They don't care.

If you are looking for a 24/7 hardcore gym, try Fletchers House of Power. Old school powerlifting gym on Jefferson/Picou.

You get a key and go whenever you want.

Several deadlifting platforms, combo racks, squat cages, leg press, hack squat, DB area, etc.

I think it’s around $50 per month.
