This thread now has me questioning the amount of money we are saving. My goal has always been to retire by 50-55. I’ve been fortunate enough to set my wife and I up for a good shot at that. The more I read this thread, the better that boat and sports car are starting to sound ??

hell yes!

you have to try to enjoy the journey. if you are so focused on just having all that money for retirement you can become obsessed and not enjoy the now. then you retire and may not have long to enjoy all that.

sure some of us can retire early but what if we are barely scrapping by month to month? what kind of retirement is that? so work longer yet by them you may not be able to do shite. it can be a catch 22 for some. it is why i say i might just slowly taper down work but i will always have irons in the fire making money through some vehicle. work half a year vacation like VA bucknut the rest

so yeah if you have enough cash flow or cash on hand now f it go buy yourself a toy.

That's one of the benefits of starting early.
