What are the odds of an LSU Baseball Alumni Game

Just saw a video of Roger Clemens pitching an inning in the UT Alumni game. LSU should do this. Current players vs Former/Current MLB and Minor League guys. Composite bats. Who y'all got on your roster?

Even the odds and let the old guys bring their old bats

They used to do this. Always seemed totally half assed. Died fairly quickly.

Odds are slim. Ex players don't like PM. They won't even join Coaches' Committee at a discount.
I've always wanted an alumni home run derby on the Friday night before the first home football game (using old bats). Attended one at Auburn years ago and it was fun. Sponsored by a sorority as a fundraiser at about $5 to get in.

Former/Current MLB and Minor League guys.
It's my understanding that it came to an end when the professional league clubs put a clause in the players' contracts prohibiting them from playing in any type of organized game prior to the players reporting for Spring training out of the fear the player would get injured.
That only left LSU alums who were no longer active in the game to play in an alumni game and that wasn't enough to have a competitive game with the current LSU players.

At one time, there used to be two games. The first one was a laugher consisting of players that were at LSU prior to Skip's arrival. This one was really fun. The second was a game between players from the Bertman era against current players. This was a more serious game and players went all out to win. I have fond memories from both games at the old Box.

They had them in the early 2000's. We were supposed to scrimmage U High in the old Alex Box but had to play on their field because LSU was having their Alumni game that day.

They used to have alumni team come back and play the current team, not sure why they stopped.

I believe the official reason why the game ended was because it counted against LSU's allowable games for the season.

It was discontinued because even though at the time it was only an exhibition, when the regular season was cut from 60 to 56 games, the NCAA ruled that it counted as part of the regular 56 game schedule. it was then discontinued.

What are the specific reasons they don't like PM?

Off the top of my head I can remember Ryan Theriot, Rick Greene, Todd Walker, Warren Morris, Russ Johnson and Ben McDonald speaking as part of the program.
Maybe some former players don’t like Mainieri but your statement making it sound like ALL players who played before PM replaced Smoke don’t like Mainieri is just not true.
