I don't think the lacrosse people want it sanctioned by the LHSAA....

I do not think it will happen until LSU gets a new AD. Too much at risk.

If I remember correctly it is a low number, perhaps as low as 20 schools. When my boy was playing it was close, then Rummel dropped and Shaw was not able to get started. However, that was two or three years ago.

Is it not? I got a state championship ring.

Last time I checked, the requirement was a certain percentage of high schools in the state have to offer it. But I cannot remember the exact percentage. I know it was somewhere in the 20s/30s %.
Soccer took forever to be state sanctioned in LA.
Right now, the club teams are doing nearly the bare minimum to exist as they do. A few programs "get it" & thus have more successful programs.
What LA lacrosse needs is for their club team representatives & most importantly their faculty supervisor to do their simple job of submitting their paperwork for school facility use. LA (all states) has pretty clear rules on the books that all school sponsored clubs have complete access to campus facilities, including athletics (public schools that is, private schools are another animal).
Small town old baw ADs buck this rule by simple saying "No" but the reality is that they do not have that power to deny use of a school or parish owned facility.
The chess club, the math club, the drum line, the quidditch club, bass fishing club, rugby club, ,& lacrosse club all have the same rights of access to classrooms/library/computer labs/weight rooms/etc. as the athletic teams. Unfortunately the faculty advisors or club team members simply don't know how to go about the approval process or they're too timid to challenge the current attitude of ADs.
Now, yes, lacrosse play tears up natural grass fields. However, field maintenance costs are covered by the parish school board, not the football or soccer teams. So, the AD can't deny facility access, outside of in-season actual team time use (i.e. daily/logical football practice or game times/foul weather that would affect an upcoming event).

Well, Alleva just favors strippers over lacrosse

On a side note, I wish the high schools up here in NE LA had wrestling. My son did that in Texas and it is a good sport that transitions well from football and also helps tremendously with players that play football.

Lacrosse is NOT a sport.
It’s a **** college activity.
Just ask George Carlin.

All the high schools up here in Virginia have that activity. It is nothing more than soccer with a stick that has a basket on it.

My sons' school is ahead of the curve then. They purchased property across the street that is strictly the domain of lacrosse and "ultimate." But it has Mr. Benson's name and a stone tablet saying so. Prior to that, they practiced out at UNO which wasn't horrible, just waaaaaaaaaaay the hell out there, behind the Arena and Privateer Park.
Their bitter rivals still have no place of their own. Last I knew they had to practice way out at Mike Miley.

You should probably avoid talking about things you don’t understand.

Pretty cool of them to set up a lax facility there.
Sorry for the memory lapse. No disrespect intended. Ha
