1969. Ted (Zac Efron) is crazy-handsome, smart, charismatic, affectionate. And cautious single mother Liz Kloepfer (Lily Collins) ultimately cannot resist his charms. For her, Ted is a match made in heaven, and she soon falls head over heels in love with the dashing young man. A picture of domestic bliss, the happy couple seems to have it all figured out … until, out of nowhere, their perfect life is shattered. Ted is arrested and charged with a series of increasingly grisly murders. Concern soon turns to paranoia—and, as evidence piles up, Liz is forced to consider that the man with whom she shares her life could actually be a psychopath.
This is the story of Ted Bundy, one of the most notorious serial killers of all time. Collins shines as Liz, while Zac Efron gives a performance that could redefine his career. Renowned filmmaker Joe Berlinger, best known for his true-crime documentaries, proves to be the perfect match to bring this Extremely Wicked, Shockingly Evil and Vile true story to the screen.

It’s kind of funny how bad ted bundy actually was at being a serial killer but got away with it for so long because of how awful law enforcement training was back then
He would’ve been busted in two seconds if it were today

Damn, Zac Efron was perfectly cast for this role. It's crazy how similar they look.

IMO it looks like they cast the right guy to play the Bundy role and in a way he acts just like Ted did during certain points - Like during his trial. One minute he was charming everyone in the courtroom and the next minute, you could see his eyes turn evil. And the female groupies he had during his trial - Good Lord.

Had no idea James Hetfield was in this

Ted...the OG Dr. Lecter.

He used his own name during abductions, around multiple witnesses and used the same vehicle to commit the crimes that was spotted by multiple witnesses and wasn’t investigated for years even after his ex gf told the police he would be a strong suspect and fit the profile to a tee and that he drives the exact car they are looking for
Then they finally caught him and let his arse escape out a window from the court room.
He did like 7 of the murders before the police were even able to figure out it was a serial murderer and not just a bunch of separate crimes then just moved states and got away Scott free before starting over again
Lector would look at him like a preschooler

I don't know how Hetfield will be at acting but there couldn't be a better first role than a "no nonsense sheriff"

Put "Ted Bundy" in the thread title so people will click on it. I didn't know this was the Bundy movie.

He plays the cop who arrested Bundy. Probably just a small role though.

Weird trailer, almost like it was trying to glorify Bundy

Likely portraying his life how he viewed it to contrast the reality that I’m sure they’ll show in the second half of the film.
I think the angle this film is supposed to take is showing the Ted Bundy story from the POV of the girlfriend who stood by him during it.

I think the more interesting casting choice was having the Bazinga guy play the lead attorney

That was a little more campier than I was expecting. I may or may not catch on Netflix down the road. Don't see trying to catch it in theaters like I will with Once Upon A Time in Hollywood
