Man I loved the first 2 but am probably not going to get this one because the story has gotten so crazy. I tried to watch the 30 min YouTube video to get caught up but it’s way to confusing

If you're playing for the story, then you are playing it for the wrong reason tbh. It's more about the characters and the interactions with the Disney characters/worlds. Not to mention the battle system.

My brother used to play it and it always seemed like a game about anime characters meeting Disney characters. It seemed kind of cool, but never really drew my interest. I remember the final boss was this guy trying to smush you with his giant hand. And you were in space.
