I'd prefer an MTX anyday but subaru's CVT is quite good and reliable. It would be much better w/out fake shift points.

This is the pinnacle of stupidity. If you're going to do a CVT, just do it. Why add wear and tear by jerking and lashing it to "fake" a shift point?"

Cause stupid people complained about their "broken" CVTs.

I don't like them either. I drive a MT now, but those are getting harder and harder to find.

I have an Outback in my driveway with a broken CVT right now.

$7000 car with a $4000 transmission issue.

frick me.

As far as being weak; the Outback has a 3,500 LB towing capacity. A JK Wrangler has 1,500.
