1. Air travel existed before TSA workers.
2. Avg salary for TSA is 28K. My garbage man makes more.
3. I think they can be replaced with about 10 minutes of training.

TSA created by law to eliminate private security at airports. GW signed law. Private security exception was created via request to TSA administrator. Long process. I think a dozen airports exceptions allowed. Meaning congress would need to rescind law to eliminate TSA at airports.

TSA walkout would be illegal but would end the shutdown quickly.

Question: How long do you think it would take (ballpark) to write a contract of that scale (even for one airport), solicit it, have potential security firms craft their bid proposals, make an evaluation of technical acceptance for each bid, award to the winner, and have that winner hire and train the staff to begin work?
