Do you stay at places that charge extra for more people in the room? I've never heard of that unless it was an all inclusive resort or a club level hotel room.

Yes OP, the owner probably lives nearby or has friends who do. You will get busted.

Many AirBnB hosts use home security cameras to count how many people are staying. If you lie they can charge you, report you, give you poor ratings, etc.

Go check out r/AirBnB to see how psychotic some hosts are. If you want some lulz post this same thread over there.

It could be that some rooms are kept locked based on how many beds you say you’ll need. I’ve never done air b&b but I’ve seen a few VRBO listings like that.

Just be straight with your host. Or book a hotel.
