Coaches have no concern over the number of stars a recruit has if they believe he can help the team.

Leonard was a 5 STAR and one of the TOP PLAYERS IN THE COUNTRY LIKE STINGLEY
Ish WAS a 5 STAR and is now a 4 STAR meaning, he was never a 5 STAR in terms of VALUE
Apples to Oranges
To get a 5 star YES
to get a 4 star NO

No player is worth 2 scholarships

And remember, coaches spend their careers trying to get the most out of young competitive men.
You'd be hard pressed to find any coach who looks at laziness, etc. and says "I can't work with that". There job is to do just that, and all of them are confident they can. Frankly, most of the time they are successful.
So for any recruit, not just Ish, it would have to be some really really terrible attitude problems to get them to pass on size, ability, talent, etc.
So that is probably a very tiny factor, IF true, in all of this.
Just food for thought.

I'm kind of starting to waver on giving a scholarship to both Sophser bros. Ish just isn't the prospect the recruiting rankings have him rated as. With that said, I'd probably just go all out and try to get as many DL prospects as I can.

Yes, we need linemen that will equal to Bama. LSU lost at line of scrimmage on both sides.

Billy Embody just said on 104.5 that he looked like dog poo poo during the all star game. He had some BS problem with his helmet for 2, 2 freaking days!! Said it really threw up red flags to everyone!! And Rodney is no where worth a scolly!

I heard that as well. Couldn't find a helmet for 2 days, the way Billy said it to you could tell it's something that had everyone kind of scratching their heads.

Best tackler I've seen since Joe Mantegna.

It is worhnit, and Rodney might turn out to be productive.

Ish is falling down the rankings each time a release comes out.
Then he's definitely not going to Bama...

Well, yeah...we'd have to.
Just kidding...I know what you mean...I would, too, at this point.

This was discussed a lot this morning. Those are the two that we need to land!

i'm perfectly fine with him not coming to LSU for that reason. He obviously doesn't want to be at LSU if he hasnt committed yet based off of his own stipulations that he is a packaged deal with his brother.....how many other schools have offered Rodney??? (Oregon this week is the first).
If he was worth 2 scholarships, dont you think other schools would be offering as well if he is some generational talent???

People like act as if EVERY SINGLE PLAYER on the roster is a potential starter.
Every recruiting class has projects, many of whom never/rarely see the field. Camp bodies are necessary.
The answer is YES, you take the brother if the main target is talented enough to play, especially at a position of need. He may not start till 2021, but Ish is probably not going to red shirt.
Better to have him at LSU than one of our rivals. Also, it's a better look to have nearly all of the state's player in P & G.

Agree...he's definitely at a position of need. Our top needs right now are OT and SDE/DL.
And, yes, we take several prospects in every class that never do much for us...we already have several in this year's class alone, and nobody forced us to take them.

But if you could get to Potential Starters at the SAME "Costs" (2 Schollies)

Guys, I get it that some of us don't like the deal, but it's time to accept it that it WILL happen if the opportunity presents itself, and right now it's looking likel
No player that puts his future team in a worse position should be considered.
