Depends, if the talent was a "Can't miss" player, then POSSIBLY. But from all accounts Ish has a world of potential and potential is a horrible word. IT means he hasn't even begun to live up to what he should be able to do. On top of that people have been saying he is lazy and takes plays off. He had the perfect opportunity to knock it out of the park and sell Bama (his preference) at the UA game and he was beat badly and often.

So, in this instance, I'd say no. I'd offer Ish only. Our scholly's are too valuable to give out to a "probable contributor" and his "not going to see the field" brother. Maybe they both should have worked harder and earned their individual ways.

Ish is falling down the rankings each time a release comes out. His brother hasn’t played football in years and is 0 stars. He will NEVER contribute. Thus it’s 2 scholarships for one player unlike above. A player that now is beginning to have question marks around him. He won’t commit and help us recruit and gives the feeling like he is playing us.

All you are saying is basically true, but what you still don't get Orgeron is playing the long game right now and is trying to repair the wall that will see rewards down the line. When repairing things it does take a cost and in this case the cost is a scholarship! The key is, if we keep winning on the field and around the state recruiting that "cost" will not be a recurring cost because we will have repaired the wall.

I don't want to waste a scholarship, but people thought that we were wasting a scholarship on Lanard also go re-read some of the posts. And while Lanard isn't a starter "which he was never expected to be" there isn't anyone who can legitimately say that Lanard hasn't contributed and we wasted a scholarship on him. Now if Ish/Rodney to commit will Rodney turn out as well as Lanard did? Probably not, but no one knows that for sure.

The bigger question will be; does Ish turn out to be the player we all hope he can be!!! Leonard was the real deal and even if Larnard didn't play ONE down for LSU getting Leonard was worth 2 scholarships every single day of the week!!! All we can hope is that Ish turns out to be the same way, a 1st round lock. That is more important question, than will Rodney contribute?

LF7's brother got the offer after Leonard was already on the team. They were never a package deal.

Guys, I get it that some of us don't like the deal,

I don't know why anyone would get it from watching Ish's tape. I'm not sold on him, let alone his brother. But, I damn sure can't second guess Coach Aranda and Coach O's decision making abilities. They are seeing something that a lot of us aren't. I trust out Coaches!

He’s only coming here if we’re the best offer his brother can get. He’s waiting until signing day to find out. I’d bet if Clemson or OU offer they’ll go there. We offered Rodney months ago, we’re a top 10 team & an hour away. He does. not. want. to. be. here.

Also, based on his performances this regular & bowl season, there’s a decent chance he could be a bust. I’ve seen higher rated kids not pan out.

Hypothetically, yes a 5 star or even a high 4 would be worth it because we have the room & the need. But I don’t think Sopsher’s worth it. The difference between Fournettes & Sops is Leonard wanted to come here but would have gone elsewhere if another school offered Lanard. Once we did it was a matter of waiting on the UA bowl game. Also everyone knew he’d be a beast wherever he went. Ish doesn’t wanna be here & I’m not sure he’ll live up to his rating if he comes.

From a pure talent and potential standpoint, he's got all the tools. His problem is he's never had to work hard to be good before, and he's gotten lazy because of it.

He’s special man. Ish’s first step at his size is unbelievable. He’s got the potiential of the dlinemen bama just put in the league. He’s that good when he wants to be.

If O cant motivate him, no one is.

Rodney won’t. This is just embarrassing. I mean this is worse than giving a car.

Not saying he will be a solid contribution, but to sit here and act like you know for a fact what the future holds for a kid is absurd.

Let it play out.

Sospher is lazy and O would take or leave him. But the heat from losing him to the Bamers may be worse. Dude is a bust per Guzzardo, Bagglio and Courier (3 local opinions)

If we don't start competing on the lines we will never be more than what we are right now. Go look at Alabama's class and look at their DL and OL incoming freshmen. It is their top priority.

You obviously haven’t been keeping up. Lanard was a 2 or 3 star Rb. He is contributing. Leonard was world class.

Did LF make you feel that way?

So if you can’t see a difference you probably should revisit your GED courses.

It’s now too much risk and not worth it. Don’t be foolish.

So...you would've taken Lanard without Leonard then? You didn't answer the question. People who insult other people's intelligence shouldn't dodge questions.

If the answer is no, which we both know it is, then we take Ish and Rodney this year.

It’s pretty clear.

If you have to ink Rodney to get Ish, but Ish lives up to his porential then 2 for 1 is worth it.

If Ish is a bust (especially if you can’t close with another quality DL) then it’s gonna hurt the program.

Of course...I expect Ed to get the most out of him.

And it's worth saying that, if we don't close with another quality DL and we don't get Ish, it's gonna hurt the program. And, as of now, it appears we might not close with another quality DL.
