Guys, I get it that some of us don't like the deal, but it's time to accept it that it WILL happen if the opportunity presents itself, and right now it's looking likely.
I respect the heck out of you but this is a very poor deal for LSU, and a deal they should not make. No player is worth 2 scholarships. Where will it end? Lanard actually contributes. Rodney won’t. This is just embarrassing. I mean this is worse than giving a car.

So everyone in this thread saying he isn’t worth two scholarships isn’t going to melt when LSU doesn’t sign Ish right?
I really don’t know if he is worth it and I would probably be fine either way they decide to play it but I just think it should be clear that if he doesn’t come to LSU because LSU didn’t allow his brother to sign them all the ones saying we shouldn’t do 2 for 1 have no right to melt over his choice of school.

Hey Vol. can you clear up Rodney’s qualifications for us. Is he even qualified to enter into a 4yr college? And if not what’s the issue and is he on track to enter 2019 in the fall? Thanks

Interesting...I hope I can keep up. Was Leonard Fournette worth 2 scholarships? Would you have taken Lanard without Leonard?
And who knows where it will end? If we do it again this time for Ish and Rodney, we're basically obligated to take everyone else's brother, friend, uncle, dog, etc. I see your point there.

OP was asking generically. Specifically NOT about Ish

It's about the optics.
O needs to stop LA talent from leaving.
It is that simple.

You don’t get it. We need to rebuild the wall around the state and that includes fixing all the sections that were broken down.
For instance say you have a dam and it sprung a small leak that on the surface doesn’t look like it will hurt the integrity of the dam and will be expensive to fix. Do you let it go and spend the money elsewhere or do you fix it now? Answer; you always fix it as quickly as possible because the water pressure build up going through that small hole will create a bigger hole and eventually destroy the structure of the dam and even cost more to repair later. The point being we want the wall secured so we allow the players we don’t need to go out of state and we keep all the players WE WANT in the state.
The cost of getting Ish is relatively high but with Ish and lee we repair a part of the wall that needs repairing and we get a couple of great recruits and the possibility “yes it is a small possibility” that Rodney contributes in someway! Also remember if Rodney doesn’t compete on the field for LSU, we still need tackling dummies for practice!!!!

From what I was told, he will be eligible to enroll at LSU, and would sign in February with Ish.

I think it’s worth it if you get a good quality player and get more LSU fans in that part of Louisiana.

Then it makes even less sense. Small towns produce players in cycles.
It isn’t just about Amite, it’s about limiting Bama’s intrusion into the state as much as possible. You don’t want pockets of LA that are pro-bama

Cool down brother.
Here’s some beer.

You obviously haven’t been keeping up. Lanard was a 2 or 3 star Rb. He is contributing. Leonard was world class.
Ish is falling down the rankings each time a release comes out. His brother hasn’t played football in years and is 0 stars. He will NEVER contribute. Thus it’s 2 scholarships for one player unlike above. A player that now is beginning to have question marks around him. He won’t commit and help us recruit and gives the feeling like he is playing us. Did LF make you feel that way?
So if you can’t see a difference you probably should revisit your GED courses.
It’s now too much risk and not worth it. Don’t be foolish.

Offerkng two brothers that don’t really love LSU is not “Locking Amite down”.
If amite were to be locked down, then ish would come here and let his brother take non scholarship Alabama style paycheck as a parking officer.
Just letting. You know that letting Rodney in doesn’t sign any contract with the barber, city of amite or any player that they will guarantee going to LSU.

I agree with Vol, like a lot of the arguments people have made on here, this is basically a moot point. 1- LSU coaches are evaluating this daily and have most likely already made a decision (What advantage would it give them to tell us their position). 2- Ish has probably already made a decision (What advantage would it give him to tell us before signing day). All we can do at this point is hope both sides make the best decision. Here’s on more point to ponder: Maybe Ish wanted to go to Crimson Hell and now feels slighted by them. Could this be the push he needs to terrorize them for the next few years? I am not saying it will happen, just offering a fresh perspective.

All of this depends on what the team needs are. If DL is a must you do what you have to in order to fill your needs.
If the team needs are in another area then you don’t sign him.
The fact the staff are still after this guy and willing to sign his brother says it all. We are in terrible need of signing quality DL recruits. I figure the coaching staff has a better feel for our needs than us here on the rant.
