How? Drugs don't come in through places the wall would protect.

Obviously.

Not by land. They mostly come in the mail. Why send a person across when you can just send Fedex the stuff? Yes, some will be intercepted but most will get through.

You're making the assertion that drugs are not smuggled across the border in remote areas?

Really?

No, the DEA makes that assertion. I'm just trusting their judgment that most drugs come through legal ports of entry.

That is exactly what Obama wanted when he sent them the guns.....so the gov would be forced to take away ours.

Most, but not all. A wall will reduce the "not all" part.

And by your own logic, if it reduces drugs/drug crime by even a little bit, it's worth it.

Right?

A negligible amount come in from the southern border. Why not spend the $5B to prevent actual drugs from coming into the actual country through actual routes?

Yeah, there were surely thousands of people all carrying pounds of drugs each that CBP captured in the middle of the desert.

I'll add that murder victims are a bit different from drug victims. Opiod death is preventable - just don't start using in the first place.

Nah BamaAtl only cares about stopping drugs that are smuggled through legal ports of entry. The insignificant amount of drugs that are smuggled across border through non points of entry are not important.

I hope you all end up in GTMO or on the prison ships.

Why not both? After all, to quote your view on gun laws:

quote:

Because gun control lowers gun violence / gun deaths.

A wall will lower drug violence/drug deaths.

So are you going to be consistent or not?

How many of those deaths are happening in an area where those firearms are illegal?

Because one of them (not the wall) would actually prevent drugs from entering the country.
