I agree that this is a big part of the equation.
It is more than just that, it’s the changed culture of the program. I suspect things had become pretty stale under Miles and the culture of the team was every man for himself. Just look at LF7 and his poor work ethic and attitude in the NFL. That didn’t just happen. He came into the NFL with that attitude.
Coach O has cleaned it up and this is molding into what may be a dominant program again.

Let's be honest, other than Williams and White, it wasn't a "no brainer" for anyone else to leave. Of course, that hasn't stopped guys from leaving in past years.
I think O definitely recruits these guys to stay more so than Miles did. Not that either approach is necessarily "wrong", just two different mindsets.
More than anything though, I think the Clemson victory on Monday was really impactful. Of course a national championship is never a given, but watching the emotion from Christian Wilkins I think showed a lot of guys that coming back for your senior year isn't the worst thing in the world. You could clearly tell just how much it meant to him to have that final year (obviously ending it with a NC helped).

Biggest reason is they are looking at their draft stock and seeing they are late rounders. Then looking all these LSU guys who have left early and maybe made a practice squad for a year or two and we’re out of the league.
Not to mention this year has a big DL class so it’s best to stay.

These players are coming back because they want to do something special. And finally we have a QB that can compliment the denfense and get us there
Yes sir!

One common thread to the teams that have beaten Bama is they had better than average QB's. I think you're right. Geaux Tigers!

It's clear O has changed the culture around LSU and the coaches have really built a solid relationship with the players. It's refreshing to see some players stay, but I don't blame them for leaving, either. NFL money doesn't come around very often!

Because other than Greedy and White....the rest of them can greatly improve their stock by actually playing in 12-13 more additional ball games and maturing physically, rather than hoping to be a mid-late draft pick with some of them scraping by next year to hang on some team's practice squad.

Yes improving their stock is the main reason they are coming back. There hasn’t been a surprise yet. Now if White comes back it’s definitely not to improve his stock and that will be a surprise.

They are idiots and seems to be a lot of O haters. Not an expert but things really seem to be headed in the right direct. Keeping some of these players is huge, the young can learn a lot from them.

This is one of those instances where you’ve got to give O the credit. Miles caught shite for years about guys leaving before they should and it appears O may have turned those tables.
I wonder about this. As much crap as has been shoveled O's direction since he was named head coach, I sure don't mean to hit him with more.
However, can these few players staying really be attributed to the head coach? Or is it just the players have different personalities and are not robots.
I truly don't know one way or the other. Is this just an anomaly? Will this trend continue. Greedy had the same coaches and he still left early... like real early.
Just a thought.

If our boys have a great season leading up to that game, it will be our best chance to play loose and up to our actual potential against them in years. I think that's been a big factor in the drought.
There is obviously an optimism around this team I haven’t felt in years. These players are coming back because they want to do something special.

They are buying into the system big league, and they are very high on CSE and his scheme. Hope all that enthusiasm comes with a potent offense next season. The stars could just be aligning for something special...
