I’m a big picture guy... I mean, kinda hard to argue with. The season was a success. The offensive coaching is mediocre. Much room for improvement.

It's hard not to consider finishing a season ranked in the top 10 a success when you started the season as a fringe top 25 team.

The only way a #6 finish could be a disappointment is if you started out in the top 5.

A lot of respect for LSU from the committee to put us above Florida

Close...needed the A&M win.

It was a decent season...just short of a successful season.

The season was an improvement.

Hard to call it a success when we didn't hit a single team goal. Didn't win the NC, didn't make the playoffs, didn't win the conference, and didn't win the division.

ETA - I'm pretty sure Orgeron would say the same thing.

That is damn good coming out of the SEC West.

Consider the fact that Clemson finished with zero regular season wins over a final AP Top 10 team, and only one regular season win over a final AP Top 25 team -- a four point win over Syracuse. That was a very favorable schedule in hindsight, and arguably in foresight, as well. Must be nice.

Once we beat Texas we will be #2 or #3

We finished #6 and if you look we were the second highest ranked SEC team. This is a big success for our program.

Great season! And I believe we will be over looked at next season's predictions, which will make the Texas win even sweeter.

Definitely a success. My questions is that even if we beat TaM do we get ranked any higher?

I'll take a NY6 bowl victory and 10 wins every year.

But I'm a really good arguer.

Agreed.

The offensive coaching is mediocre.

Agreed (and, we also need to develop talent, particularly on the OL, extra particularly at Offensive Tackle)

Much room for improvement.

Agreed.

Thats a very successful season. Hopefully LSU is able to maintain this success, which in my opinion, is the definition of having a great program.

The last 7 years we have finished below our preseason hype. First year in a while we exceeded expectations. Hopefully it’s built on and puts us in a great starting spot next year.

You'd have to be the worst negatiger or delusional or worse to view this season as anything other than a success. I'm proud of this team and coaching staff. Now build on this success and go get the SECCG and the NC in 2019.

This season was a success. The team won ten games including a NY6 bowl. One only need look at our EOY rankings the past seven years to see this year was different. We were in a position to win two out of the three games we lost. This is college football, it happens. If this year wasn't successful then please let me know what your benchmark is so maybe I can start looking at things a bit differently. Also, if there is a season in six years prior you'd swap for this one, please elaborate. There is room for improvement, but let's give our coaching staff and players credit. It was a heck of a season. I get the logic that we didn't win the division, conference, and make it to the playoff, but neither did a number other teams equally as good as LSU. I'm amazed at how many of our fans diss our coaches and players and still talk noise about losses. If the group is as inept as it would appear in the forums why would you have expectations greater than a ten win season? With that said, I've booked accommodations for Austin and the only place I see these boys going is onward and upward.

The offense was mediocre, BUT, it is certainly trending up.
