Have a 7 month old male golden retriever puppy that is pretty awesome. You not problem we have is that he jumps on people when he firsts meets them. I haven’t been able to figure out how to stop this behavior.
Does anyone have any tips to stop this bad behavior?

Shock collar with treats to give positive behavior with them not jumping

Boot to the chest, gently. If he still does it when he’s over 50lbs, not as gently.
He gone learn...

This too. You have to show them that YOU are the master.

Pop him on the nose when he does it
Won’t take long for him to learn

We always knee ours in the chest. Have to use the word "No" every time. Lightly of course and gradually harder as he gains weight.
If he's really excited, one or two hard ones that put him on his butt...he'll get the point

Step on their back foot when he does it. Start light and adjust accordingly until he stops doing it

Lots of negative and positive reinforcement. Easiest way to start is to have him sit when new people show up. If he won't sit, you know what to work on. If he sits then still wants to jump, you need to extend your knee in front of you.

When they go to jump on you walk into them, then tell them no and make them sit. Repeat a few times and they will catch on.

As others have said, knee to the chest.
When people come over, have him on a check cord or leash, make him sit. Stand on the cord.
Are you doing any obedience training at all? If not, you should get started.

Like others,I trained my dogs with a knee to the chest as soon as they leave the ground.. it only takes a few times and they get the picture..

Always did a knee to the chest while she\he was still on hind legs. The tough part is convincing your guests to do it as well.

A stern “No” with any sort of negative reaction will work fine

I use the knee to the chest as they jump and just raise the knee and catch them in the chest if the dog is a fair size one.
A few trips to the ground on their back and they get the message.

sometimes a knee to the chest with a big dog and he thinks its playing - step on his foot he will stop
