If LSU wins a bunch of games next season, they will be in the top 5 when it counts.

Care to extrapolate a little more on Justin Fields and LSU?

Probably not. We beat UCF, they shouldn’t have been there and weren’t as good as advertised. Now if they beat us they will be the GOAT football team. Y’all know the drill

1. No matter what happens on Tuesday in Glendale, AZ, LSU will not be preseason top 5 ranked in either poll. Best we could be is #8 but more likely #10-12.

2. Joe Burrow won't be all-SEC much less a Heisman candidate. Hopefully he'll have a strong steady year with effective leadership.

And if we lose? Not sure this one game has a large impact on preseason rankings. That said, I don't think we get top 5 either way. I think it will be some form of

Alabama
Clemson
Notre Dame
Oklahoma (yes, even without Murray)
Ohio State
Penn State
Ole Miss (not really, just to see if you were paying attention).

You just made two half arse false statements and tgat was it. We play in the gotdam sec west. It doesn’t matter if we start the year Unranked. All LSU has to do, just like every other gotdam year, is win games. Win them all and we are number 1 or close enough to be in the playoff. It does not matter where we start. It matters where we finish.

The results of this game will have very little to do with absolutely meaningless preseason rankings heading into next year.

I don't know if we will be top 5 because some voters try to pick who they think will win it all, not who the best teams are at the beginning of the season. If we didn't have Bama on our schedule we would be a lock for top 5 but I am guessing closer to 7-10. With an experienced Sr QB, tons of young WR talent, maybe the best defensive player in the country returning and the class we have coming in, we should be highly ranked.

BTW I don't know why you are getting so much shite...what else is there to talk about?

Not really. It focuses on bullshite preseason rankings based on what a bunch of idiot sportswriters think based on absolutely nothing but history.

Both of these are incorrect, and like it or not the ranking isn't meaningless. Maybe for us because of our schedule, but a team that starts the year top 5 that has the same resume as a team that starts 20 or so has an advantage. They shouldn't but they do.

Its not where you start but where you finish. Lets finish in the top 5 then we have something. With a win we end this season top 10 also, something we havent done since 2011

In the SEC it doesn't matter. Zero or one loss and you're in the playoff.
