I was able to let my first tomatoes ripen on the vine for the first time since I moved to Texas. I picked a few bumble bee purple and juliet cherries this afternoon.

frick you, birds!!! I won this round!!! Although, they will eventually find a way through my net... Those sons of bitches always find a way.

It's your call but I pick my tomatoes as soon as I notice they aren't getting much bigger. They will ripen just the same on the counter and I don't have to worry about birds and caterpillars. I've noticed once I started picking too that other smaller tomatoes on the same stem immediately start getting larger, but that could just be coincidence.

Is sevin dust okay on corn and beans. I have a few caterpillars on the corn that I will spray with thurcide but I may have a little bit of some other bug damage and was wondering if sevin will kill caterpillars too? I'd rather do one dust/spray instead of 2 if I can avoid it.
