Has anyone ever grown the Cherokee Carbon? I've grown the Purples with mixed results.

The first year I grew Ch Purples they were prolific and delicious. The last couple of years the yields were not as good. This year I planted 1 Ch Carbon. The purchase was accidental, but now I’m intrigued.

I steered away from planting as many heirlooms this year. Celebrity, Bonnie Centennial, Purple, and cherry. Oh, and a couple Bush Goliath.

Well I got all of my tomatoes planted. Everything was looking great until about day 4. I woke up that morning to let the dog out and put her on her lead. When I walked out the back door, I could see she had dug up the first part of the closest row that she could reach.

Killed two plants and made a mess of things. I had to rebuild that part of the row, and buy replacement plants. Then on Saturday, I wake up and dammit she had come close to doing it again.

So for now I've shortened her lead so she can't get back there. Going to build a fence around the plot so when she gets her invisible fence collar, she won't be able to dig in the garden.
