“I see no indication that Mr. Flynn was tricked,” Sen. John Kennedy (R-LA) said later in the day on CNN. “He told a bald-faced lie.”

Kennedy added: “I just think he let the country and the President down.”

White House press secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders on Tuesday reiterated the White House’s position: Flynn “was certainly ambushed and the FBI, that we know had clear political bias, we’ve seen that time and time again,” she said.

Such a shame. Republicans keep undermining Trump, and to do this on CNN no less.... What's gotten into him? I guess he thinks his seat is safe.

Now that the spineless Establishment Republicans are out of power in the House, they can sit back and let the Dem Trash do their dirty work for them trying to take down Trump. Republicans will snipe from the peanut gallery, while feigning allegiance to the President. Neither side want Trump re-elected in 2020.

I hear ya - but I am not as interested in sucking up to Trump as I am to accomplishing Trump's stated agenda.

We NEVER want to fall into hero worship like the DEMOCRATs did with the conveniently tinted Obama.

Now - I wish when a GOPer states and obvious truth like Kennedy did that they would follow it up with a challenge to the DEMOCRQATs to also put truth over politics,

quote:

and to do this on CNN no less

Again - and I wish the GOPers would challenge CNN, et al to not pick out the phrase they like = demand they either use the entire context of his statement, or refrain from using it at all.

So he should keep up a ridiculous ruse simply because trump wants to shape a lie into his own arse-saving narrative?

How pathetic would he be to do that?

Trump has a strategy in highlighting unfair FBI tactics, when Kennedy does stuff like this, he undermines Trump.

The dems stepped up and defended all of Obama's lies for 8 years.

Why can't weak kneed Republicans stick together.

Well that's an exaggeration.

Even Judge Sullivan thinks Flynn did not lie and was trying to get Flynn to rescind his plea deal with Mueller at the behest of his lawyers.

If this case went to trial Mueller will lose bigly. Mueller is strong arming Flynn to take the plea deal or Mueller will charge him with FARA violations and do other stuff to make Flynn's life a miserable fricking hell.

If this went to trial the defense attorney would call the FBI to the stand and ask the FBI agent that what he wrote in the initial 302 was accurate. Once he said "yes", the judge would say, "case dismissed".

It didn't go to trial because Flynn jumped all over the plea deal

There's a reason for that

So the FBI agents knew he was lying before the interview?

This is something our entire society should be demanding of the media. From President of the United States to your every day citizen.

Using comments out of context, for any person, party, etc. is weak shite, and fuels the overwhelming majority of media-inspired outrage.

Elevate discussion. Stop assuming that citizens are too stupid for nuance, and ignore the ones that are.

Sometimes people will have an honest disagreement with Trump. It's ok. It's not the same as undermining him. If Kennedy becomes an anti-Trumper then we can revisit this theme.

Reps run around like we have 25-35 Head Coaches who all have their own, special opinion....

Meanwhile, Dems have a single, united voice that imposes harsh discipline if one "steps outside the lines"...

Both happened.

They set him up for a perjury trap and he lied.

Simple solution. Don't lie and don't have a problem.

Or better yet don't talk to the Feds/Law Enforcement at all without an attorney present and since they will now charge your attorney with something make sure you don't tell your attorney anything either.
