I think Pels can offer $70 million more, total.

he'll go to LA because they know Lebron's clock is ticking and he can make up lost salary with endorsements

It's a shame Gentry and Dell were allowed to ruin his whole career here. And they are still on the fricking clock. Lol smh

if Porzingas can play at 100% again this is by far best deal. That 1st will be high lottery. Ntilikina is good, young.

Would have to be Ingram & ball & a 3rd piece

Hart is a bench player. Kuzma a role player

What is your base for an AD trade?

Tatum+Brown. Boston also may have as many as four 1sts next year, so there are many ways to get creative w/Boston.

If Boston is receptive and willing to negotiate in good faith, I basically wouldn't even mess with the Lakers at all, other than to drive the price up on Boston.

Boston has much better assets to give up IMO.

Doesn't work salary wise.

I would do Tatum, Hayward and three firsts.

I like the idea of a Jrue, Tatum, Hayward trio as they can all share ball handling and creation responsibilities. Niko would work well with those three and then I use the rest of my money and assets to just have solid guys at 5-11 on the roster to give me a ton of depth.

I would be looking for a PJ Tucker type to finish with those four. Low usage, can hit a three, defend and rebound.

If you get Brown and Tatum back, I doubt you can keep both and maximize both moving forward. They will both demand max contracts and I think Hayward is simply a better fit with Jrue anyway

So, you think AD says he will not re-sign and Gayle or Loomis pushes pause and then cleans house, interviews a bunch of candidates to make sure they get the right guy. Then, he comes in and finds a coach and they discuss the direction they wanna go, then re-open trade talks and accept bids?

I don't agree. I agree that is what they SHOULD do. But I don't see it. Maybe if AD tells them on May 15th he won't sign the extension. But I have no faith in Gayle or Loomis to understand or frankly care that much about doing this the right way. I bet Dell gets to make the trade and that would be all kind of backwards

I think AD makes that decision well before May 15th. I also believe Lauscha and Loomis would have a list of candidates to interview well before May 15th. I think the new GM will be hired and have plenty of time prior to the draft to discuss trades and hire a coach that fits his vision. Lauscha is smart enough to know they will need to sell youth and excitement if AD leaves. They will need a new face of the franchise.

I don't see it going down like that, but I hope you are right. I don't think AD and his camp make that declaration while the playoffs are on going and the Finals go right up to the mid/end of June.

I know it's more fun to talk about trades but this whole sequence of events is far more important. If AD goes, everything needs to be reset with a new vision. I don't trust that the higher ups prioritize the Pels enough to be thinking about all this way in advance.

And what if he is watching the playoffs from his couch?

I get your reservations, but I think the Pels are much more of a focus under Gayle than when Tom was ostensibly in control. I think the business folks like Lauscha also see the rapidly accelerating NBA audience versus the stagnating NFL ratings as huge opportunity. The G-League deal is done and will provide them with more tools for development also.

Right, the OP just mentioned base, so I was replying with the base.

i think the obvious guy to come back would be Horford, but I'd love for it to be Hayward.

I would as well. That's infinitely better than anything the Lakers can give us.

I'd want Robert Williams thrown in so we have a rim protector.

In general would you prefer a Tatum & Hayward trade where we turn around and try to sneak into the playoffs right away with Tatum as the future face of the franchise or the #1 (Zion) & young player (Markannen) trade (if something like that were offered)?

I would personally prefer Boston or LAL, as they have the young players that would keep us in contention. Tatum, Rozier, Baynes and 1-2 1zt rounders would make us a deeper team, as would Ball, Ingram, Kuzma...

IF we do have to let AD go, give me a team built in the Clippers, Denver, Pacers, Jazz mold where we just have 10-12 players deep with all of them playing hard all the time, rather than a superstar with 7-8 other players.

Man, with what you would accept, you must hate NOP? Or not value an NBA top 5 franchise anchor?

I want all four of Boston's 1st round picks, or at least the top three of them, plus a player off the roster.

Boston will have some leverage though in that they know(if we get to that point) we have to trade him or face getting nothing back if he becomes a free agent.

We can get a big haul for sure, but we can't get his true value based solely on how good he is.

Boston had no leverage. Othrt teams will be bidding heavy and they literally will not get another chance to get this caliber of player.

The ONLY way the Pels can't get a huge haul is if AD says that he only wants to go to LA. Other teams will bid but not as heavy.

If he is open to anywhere or even gives a list of 4 or 5, the haul back will be massive.

Bingo. If you get in a bidding war, and you still have Jrue, Niko or Randle, Moore, and Payton, I think you still end up with a pretty damn fun team with the haul you get back for AD. And one with a little depth? Lawd Jesus help me.

1) In what world would Horford and 4 non lottery picks be better than Tatum, Rozier and Baynes?

2) As I've stated we would not recieve any 2019 picks from Boston, they couldnt make the trade until after Kyries contract is over, which is after the draft.
