I consider anything over 4,000 sq ft to be large.

I’m right at 3,000 with 2 kids and I can see myself upgrading before long

You’re not saying much at all actually.

Other than opinions are anecdotal. Nice conclusion Einstein. Any other anecdotal opinions about anecdotal opinions you want to opine on?

It would have just been easier for you to say "box, you're right."

Big homes are fun when you have a house full of people and constant activities

My sisters father inlaw has a 2 bedroom house that is 12,000 square feet

as far as bedrooms its basically a crazy big master, then a guest room in the portion of the house that was built in the 1700's(11k addition on small old home.)

OK. We need to consider the math on this one right here.

11,000 square foot addition? Really? "A crazy big master" Is there a half basketball court in the bedroom or something? Seriously, explain this to me.

Scraps. We would have LOVED to get scraps when i was a kid. And a SHED!? that would be like a mansion to me.

I had to live under a rusty piece of tin in a mud puddle, and all I got to eat was the pictures of the food from the grocery ads.

I have a "starter" townhome that is like 1,450 sq ft (2 BR, 2.5 bath).

Its great for us, but with just one kid (14 weeks old), we're starting to out grow it.

Thank god we have tons of attic space and a great patio, because we have absolutely no outdoor storage area like a garage or shed.

This is really a matter of geography because space isn’t equally divided in some places. I lived in older cities where lots were pretty small.
Where I live now homes generally run about $600 per sq foot. When I lived in Baton Rouge it was closer to $100.
So where I live now indoor space usually runs close to 1k. Now many people have some sort of enclosed porch that is more like an outdoor living room than a back deck, but is generally not considered part of the Sq footage. I would say what most consider big is a 3-1 or a 3-2 that is roughly around 1500 sq ft.
When we travel to places in “the country” my kids think we are poor AF because people elsewhere live in what my kids think are castles.

Its a very large bedroom. Has 3 fireplaces, full living room suite, etc.., if it had a kitchen, you would think its the house. Its the entire second floor of the addition.

He sold his business for 95 million and still leases the land the company is currently on for 150k a month. Lots of disposable income. He bought an old stone house built in 1792 and added on. Had an Amish family essentially living in the garage for two years while they hand built and did all the custom wood working on the inside. They even used trees from the property.
