Let's come up with the list of schools that will survive the next wave of realignment

So I'm basing this off the article that was written this summer on 247 that discussed Amazon and other streaming companies getting involved in college football and instead of looking at conferences led by networks that generate revenue based on tv markets, they would focus on the actual monetary value of each individual program involved and on how big each fanbase is total, not just their media market. The article suggested 30 to 40 teams, I feel like that may be a little high, but let's try ti come up with 30 schools that we believe will be involved in this new situation. For reference, these are the top 25 schools based on football revenue. I feel like most of those schools should be safe, and the remaining handful could be an interesting group, if 30 does end up being the number

Does not the revenue include the media deals? If we are discussing programs built to hold its own, should we not eliminate the tv deal and stick to tickets, donations, and apparel/merchandise as those are unique to the institution?

That's a true point. I would do so but I'm on my phone

This board is obsessed with realignment. I honestly think that the next round of realignment isn't going to be as big as the last. I think the cord cutting that has happened in the interim will have an effect on the money available.
But that is just a guess. My guess isn't any more reliable that all these people screaming 4 conferences will happen.
I also think this is a post by an aggie to try to perpetually trash the Big 12.

Hopefully the next realignment is contaction for the SEC. Past time to fix Slive's blunder. We got tge tv market in north Mexico, kick those aggots out. #12strong

The SEC should go to 10 and boot Arky, Missouri, Aggy, and South Carolina.
Scrap divisions and play all teams with no championship game.

USC isn’t on the list because we don’t know what their apparel/merchandising deal is. The list isn’t accurate.
A&M is also counting donations for facilities upgrades as revenue. Interesting accounting right there.

How many years is A&M going to count their stadium renovations towards that?

Probably when the three year window rotates off 2014 and 2015

Much better idea would be to list the bubble teams
Syracuse
Miami
GT
Boston College
Maryland
Northwestern
Missouri
Vandy
Wash St
Oregon St
Utah
Cal
Baylor
Oklahoma St
Texas Tech
Among others. Some are just out like Rutgers

I also think 32 might be the magic number

How does cheap arse LSU who cuts corners on everything they do not turn a better profit on that revenue compared to other schools?

I honestly wouldn't be surprised if its under 30
I think we start we the schools we know are in
Miami
Florida State
Ohio State
Michigan
Penn State
Nebraska
OU
Texas
USC
Bama
Florida
Georgia
Auburn
LSU
Vols
A&M
Notre Dame
That's 17
Then schools that are most likely in
Clemson
Michigan State
Wisconsin
Iowa
UCLA
Oregon
Washington
Ole Miss
South Carolina
That's 26. And then we go from there

Idk, they seem to have a pretty decent following and they generate money

Are you kidding me?
