I’ll say it and I’ll get killed...

I’ve been one of the biggest LSU basketball homers on this board for 15 years... Will Wade either has no idea what he’s doing or he coaches a bad brand of basketball.
You have a 15 point lead with 18 minutes left in the game and by the ten minute mark it’s gone. You went 9 minutes without a made basket.
You have their bigs on the bench but refuse to go inside to your big men. Even with their bigs on the bench you get murdered on the glass.
Down 4 with 2:30 left you just start chucking up trash.
I do not like the way these guys play. We let Grambling State hang around. Bad Brady and Trent teams would crush those guys. You squeaked by Memphis, UNCG, and La. Tech. I’m just not seeing it. Maybe it’ll come together but it feels like a promise I’ve been sold before by Johnny Jones with Simmons, Blakeney, Hornsby, victor, and quarterman.
ETA: we can complain about the officials all we want but what about

Lost rebounds 48-35
Gave up 18 offensive rebounds
16 turnovers
Reid made a layup with 19:47 and no offensive basket until a Days layup at 9:29.
ETA2: 6/25 shooting in the second half with 9 turnovers

Yeah his coaching has left a lot to be desired this season. Just being honest.

This has the makings of what transpired in the 2013-2014 season where we had great incoming talent, but couldn’t win consistently with it.

For nearly his entire time here this is not the case. Yes, the last month of basketball has been hard to watch, no identity...but you are being WAYYYYYYY too irrational off a bad month of basketball when he has shown on various times how good he can coach. I am frustrated, you should be too, but you are getting a little too dramatic for my liking.

Dont get me wrong Johnny Jones was bad, but he got crucified for the exact same thing Wade is doing.

You shouldn’t. Everything that was the hallmarks of Johnny Jones basketball are present with Wade’s teams.
Terrible defense? Yep
No offensive structure? Yep
Poor basketball IQ and shot selection? Yep
Somehow looks like a WORSE coach with better talent? So far

He knows how to recruit, sell a program, and coach. BUT, he has NO idea how to mesh different talents and style of play based on his personnel.
He doesn’t know what to do with Reid, he doesn’t know how to run an offense around Waters. No one on the team understands their role

Bad programs attract bad coaches. LSU is just not going to be a basketball school.

i absolutely would not let Waters try and put up terrible shots for the last 5 minutes and watch Houston put is away because of it. I can tell you that. With our size I have no idea how we get manhandled for offensive rebounds either. Both houston and FSU. Game is very dissapointing to say the least. We had this game won.
