And the idea of purpose is more about even in a rotten situation, maybe a school or job you don't like, or where you live, realizing that God has you there for a reason, so sitting around moping about it is pointless and actually sin. Know the will of God, not just in your life, but His will in general, and find the reason you're in that spot.

Actually it's a way for people to justify remaining in said shitty situation as opposed to realizing that they may have been the reason they're in the situation and they're the only ones who can get themselves out of it.

You're doing right in your posts..."God has you there for a reason"...so "it's not my fault, God is teaching me something".

Sorry man, if you're at a shitty school, have a shitty job, are a drunk, etc...you have a hand in your being there, perhaps a shitty parent has a hand in why you're there, but you are the only one who is going to change it. You're not going to pray yourself out of it. Roll up your damn sleeves and take responsibility.

Sure. And the bible does not contradict that.

And again, I never said don't do anything about it. Look for another job if it's that bad.

Paul talked about it while in prison. He said he'd love to go home (heaven) and be rid of the suffering, but while he was still on earth, he could do work. Maybe you're in that job for a few months to reach out to someone in need.

Whatever situation you're in, there's a point to it, so while you're still there, don't sit there feeling sorry for yourself. Look for another job, sure, but still work hard, and be an example to those around you.
