rbdallas and Topwater Trout are spot on in their posts. Les was fired for his stubborn attitude. And you can't hold a 2nd year coach to the same expectations as Les. But in the next year or 2, nothing changes, you surely can.
My prediction: Like so many coaches prior, Coach O is going to dig his heels in with Ensminger, and it will cost him his job.
Look at Ensminger's career as an OC. Not impressive at all. I remember following his career, and he never lasted anywhere for more than a couple of year. He was the epitome of average to below average.
The guy quits, coaches HS, then comes back to coach TE's. Let's just say LSU is not exactly known for it's producing TE's while he was the coach. He is then elevated to OC against his wishes. He doesn't want to do it.
He's a great guy, LSU through and through. He's a terrible OC that hates his job. He can't be successful for that alone. Yet O insists on him doing the job. It will cost him, unless he reconsiders and brings in a top end OC.

I disagree, and Kirby Smart is only the most recent example of getting results immediately with good coaching.

2.5 years.
Look, O is here next year, and I don't think the bowl game changes that.
But if he loses 2-3 games before the end of November next year, then we should start evaluating options.
A 4th consecutive Bama loss? If he continues the 0fer against Jimbo/Mullen/Saban? That's the nail in the coffin imo. He'd never be better than 10 wins.
