How about a young, up and coming AD with a spine to replace Alleva.

Danny White

His dad replaced Alleva at Duke. Let history repeat itself.

Well, at least we could just claim a national championship whenever we feel like it. I'm in.

Considering UCF’s Recent performance given their talent/recruiting level, LSU could hire their AD and football coaching staff and be much better off.

I would do it just based upon the entire fiasco they put on after last seasons end, claiming the title, having parades, they sure had some pretty good PR.

He took a chance hiring a young coach like Heupel. Looks like a wise decision thus far.

Was there a playoff system in place to declare one champion in those years?

Dude's got balls, I give him that. Which would be the polar opposite of Alleva.

It was solely Alleva’s fault not hiring Jimbo and Herman?? You really beleive that? We go from paying 6 million plus to O’s 3 million...i am not saying that is the sole reason but NO ONE can deny that it had something to do with it.

It has worked out well for him undoubtedly... but those decisions can be made at lesser schools without the huge risk. If it works out, you look like a genius. If it doesn’t, then you have the built in excuse that the Saban’s, Meyer’s, and Swinney’s of the coaching world aren’t legit candidates and your coaching talent pool is limited. With our fan base and expectations, I’m not sure those excuses would be acceptable.

Do you really believe he'd shun the first opportunity he gets at a decent power-5 school?

Do you really believe he hasn't already been contacted by numerous P5 schools?

Here's a connection for you:

He’s probably waiting on the right offer. Neal Brown at Troy hasn’t accepted a major offer yet either, but he’s going to be the next big hire IMO.

You’re not the only “minor” football school with an up-and-coming coach.

I want Scott Woodward to come home.... that would accomplish 2 things.
1) Get rid of that bum we have now and turn our athletic department into a strength
2) Make Texas A&M lose their shite

Right. They beat a tough Cincinnati team and Memphis twice. Judging by the results against that 110th rank schedule, I agree. Also, we deserve a share of the 2011 schedule.
