I doubt Bush wanted Trump there but he respected the office of the Presidency too much to stop Trump from attending.

"The Bush family contacted the White House this past summer to say that President Trump would be welcome at the funeral, scheduled Wednesday at Washington National Cathedral, and to assure him that the focus would be on Bush’s life rather than their disagreements, according to one former administration official."

If Bush, et al, respect the office of the president so much, then why aren't they speaking up when Democrats in congress go out of their way to stop the current incumbent from exercising his Constitutional duties and rights?
