There's a story on the Courier-Journal website. Looks like a done deal....

There’s still a chance Louisville can make him into a scumbag.

Not very excited about this hire. Was really hoping we would get Chip Long at Notre Dame. Satterfield has no experience at all at he P5 level. Oh well

Long wasn’t more than a position coach until two years ago.

It’s a good hire for you all. I don’t see why you’d be disappointed considering what is going to be asked of the new HC.

Listen, it could always be worse.

Louisville could have hired the Co-DC of a rival school and then gotten stuck with him.

That’s a really good hire and I’m surprised. I didn’t think they would consider any candidates without personal issues.

Fanbase wasn't going to like anybody not named Jeff Brohm

I'm actually excited to see what Satterfield can do with P5 talent. Yes, I would have loved to see Brohm come home, but I have to admire him for sticking with his commitment to the building process at Purdue. (Wish more coaches were like that.) Satterfield is solid on both sides of the ball, and we really don't know how well he can recruit. (App State was not going to pull in any high profile guys no matter who was coaching there.) I would guess that some Purdue folks were underwhelmed with Brohms' hiring a couple of years ago too, especially since he had limited experience in P5 coaching, and none as a head coach. Time will tell, but I'm really excited to see what Satterfield can do. Not expecting miracles, especially in the first year or two. As has always been typical for Petrino, he's left the program in pretty bad shape.

Canada must have bombed the interview. FootballScoop said this morning that Louisville AD talked to Satterfield yesterday but wanted to talk with Canada and was very interested. After talking with Canada, he hired Satterfield.

Takes a little pressure of SC for next year. They play the mountaineers Nov 9th.

I wonder if App goes after Sean Elliot?

Naw dawg. Because of our identity and QB history I thought it was the absolute best hire we could make. Brohm still has work to do but he’s an 8-4 record next year away from being the Patron Saint of the school.

Well, that would have been MY reaction, but it seems like every fan base has idiots who wouldn't be satisfied unless they get a big-name coach. By the way, I love watching Brohm build that program back up. Hope you guys can win the BIG sometime soon.

Canada must just be a condescending jackass.

He's a pretty good football coach but there's a reason he keeps bouncing from job to job on a yearly basis and can't land a head coaching job.
