I'm not the one calling out everybody saying that we didn't know what pressure was. I was knocking him for saying that.

Pay attention.

Greedy's decision is 100% about Greedy.

I am ok with that. He is a man and needs to make his own decisions. But... please don't try to make it anything other than what it is.

His former team is going to battle on January 1 and he is not joining them. That is a fact that cannot be ignored.

All of that is correct, but none of it is an excuse to run Greedy's name through the mud.

Why do you think fans are upset?

It's because we're selfish too. Greedy wants what's best for him and we want what's best for us as fans. Drawing a hard line in the sand and refusing to entertain the alternative is asinine.

1. No matter how you want to spin, he is choosing to quit on his team. LSU still has one game left to play. Is it meaningless? That's subjective to every player. Is the decision based in logic? Sure. But either way, he is quitting on his teammates.

It's not meaningless if this is the first time in LSU history they've made it to a NY6 bowl (and it is). That can't be devalued since it never happened along with the difficulty of getting there (strength of schedule made it possible this year). IMO, thank the school by helping them finish accomplishing the primary goal which is to elevate the program by helping to win the NY6 bowl game. Due to the issues at corner, the team actually needs him. If Fulton were healthy and Joseph was deemed healthy and ready to play, this would be less of a problem.

Frankly, if LSU wins, it's water under the bridge for most. If they lose because they struggle against the UCF passing attack, this decision will be remembered for a long time.

The players care about this game as much as they care about Rice. They're more excited about bowl gifts than anything else.

I guess you missed Devin White's announcement.

If we lose to UCF, blaming it on a CB being inactive is going to be tough to do. More will have gone wrong than just Greedy.

They are on their second string quarterback. If LSU loses, pinning that on greedy is grossly unfair.

Why not look at changing the wording in the scholarship and have it read that if you choose to skip the bowl game then you have to repay the value of the scholarship for that year

Sit out the bowl game so as not to risk a multi-million dollar signing bonus, but have to pay the school back $20-30 grand, not a lot of thought need to go into that decision.

I’m not upset at all. I understand why he’s doing it. I just think that if I were in the same position I’d play in the bowl, that’s all... I don’t look at greedy any differently than I did a week or two ago

I could support that. It may save the school some money. But I am not sure it would change behavior.

Million dollar contracts vs one year tuition.
But, I agree it would send the right message.

How about opting out of an entire season? Devin White is going to leave an entire season of eligibility on the table. Does he not care about his teammates? Is he selfish?

If a player skips his senior year to play in the NFL that same year, there is a difference than sitting out a game when healthy.

Greedy isn't sitting out this game to go play in an NFL game. He is sitting out this game because he is scared that he might get hurt on 1 of the maybe 5 attempted passes that go his way and he doesn't want to take any risk, no matter how small, that could hurt his draft pick status.

These two are not analogous.

ETA - I am not bagging on Greedy. He was a good Tiger and will be remembered as other members of DBU regardless of how the bowl game plays out. He knows what's important to him and he is willing to do what is necessary to put himself in the best position possible to attain it.
