What is you go to online mmo?
Been 12 years since I played console so I’m an open book.
I played WOW for a long time not for the lore but simply because of advancing your status through Time played. That’s really what I am looking for.

Game that is played online with other people.
I kinda want to start a FPS and there are a couple like Neverwinter that look interesting but it’s hard to judge online reviews.

The online MMO is sort of a deserted genre. There aren't a lot of them still popular and the few that are are still mostly PC based.
There are lots of great PC games that are also available on PS4 too, if you don't PC game much. Witcher 3, the recent Doom remake, etc. Look up games in the genres you like.
Some of the best PS4/console exclusive games, at least the ones I own:
Bloodborne
Dark Souls III
Dragon Quest XI
God of War
Nioh
Red Dead Redemption II

MMO is mostly a PC thing. Most online console players are playing shooters like COD or Fortnight. For something close to an mmo you could try Fallout 76 if you like throwing money away.

That’s the list I was looking for. I’ve seen a couple of those. Need to research the rest.

I think you need to look up terms my dude.

Fallout seems to be a shitstorm right now. I’ll pass.
Going to try RDR since that seems to be the hot thing. Need to research a few on the list above.

I think FFXIV has a pretty active playerbase. Thats your only go to MMO I think on consoles.
Hes talking about the fact that you said you wanted an FPS like Neverwinter when Neverwinter is an RPG

There's also quite a few free to play MMO's on PS4, Tera being the latest I can remember.
FFXIV is great, but has a $15 a month fee. You can play up to level 25 or 30 for free, though.

Yeah, your phrasing and use of terms is confusing but I'd check out Destiny and its sequel, Warframe, The Division, and *maybe* the Borderlands collection if you don't mind playing an older game that's been updated a bit for this gen. Those are somewhat like FPS MMO's.
ETA: The Division is a third person shooter, now that I think about it, but it's still an action RPG with a lot of shooting at its core.

I am going to get DVs for that.

Everyone has made some decent recommendations. Final Fantasy 14 is a full fledged MMO on console and has a pretty large player base. You can play the free trial for a good bit of the base game. Could also look at Elder Scrolls Online if you want something that looks more Western.
For a MMO style game, trying something like Destiny would be a good start.
