There is NO school named Louisiana that plays NCAA football

We do have University of Louisiana Lafayette and University of Louisiana Monroe, but there is no school just named Louisiana that plays NCAA football.
I wish UL-Monroe would do something about this. It hurts them and makes them seem like the "lesser" school.

Because they are idiots and breaking state law. No state-funded university is allowed to be just called "Louisiana". They are University of Louisiana Lafayette. Not Louisiana.
