As you guys may remember, I use Living Cookbook software to store and organize my recipes. I have used the software to publish the last few versions of this board's recipe collection. I had a database of over 10,000 recipes.

Well, apparently the company went out of business and now the software won't work because the license can't be verified to open it.

Unless something develops, like a hack to allow the software to work, there will be no updates to the recipe collection from me.

I am pissed that recipes that I have collected for many years are now lost to me. How would you react?

I would be pissed. Post this on reddit to see if someone can hack it open for you. Did you not have any backups? After Katrina, my family scanned a lot and we slowly started typing them up in Microsoft Word.

I use living cookbook too, haven’t opened it in a while, I guess I am screwed too. Please post if you find a workaround!

it might be worth it to find someone on the tech board that could crack the program. I dont know coding enough to do it.

It depends on how they are storing the data. If they are using local database file on your computer. We can retrieve all the info
