Anyone ever deviate from the traditional Thanksgiving meal?

Last year at my moms we did fried catfish. Still had the green bean casserole and other traditional fixings. Almost did Ribeyes this year, but have two turkeys for tomorrow.

We are having ham, potato salad, coleslaw & rolls tomorrow

We'll do ribeyes every couple of years. Breaks up the decades long monotony

Last year instead of going to our family’s thanksgiving, we drove cross country and had thanksgiving with a friend’s family. Similar food but It was a nice change of pace to be somewhere different.

We have done ham as well before, and then did turkey for Christmas one year to mix it up. Forgot to mention that.

Nope, we're full on tradition for Thanksgiving. Roasted turkey with all the trimmings.
But the reason everyone in the family really wants that is because of mom's pot pies she makes with the leftovers. Better than the turkey meal itself.
Christmas is when we go non traditional. This year we're grilling ribeye steaks.

Yep, we do prime rib because I really don’t like Turkey and I hate dealing with what’s left over after the initial meal.

We're having gumbo this year, by popular demand. Tis the season.

i keep trying to get her to change things up and she has let dad do gumbo for christmas a few times but she like traditions even if it gets boring
i just fry up some fish or do a jambalaya myself

Nope. My wife, my parents, and my annoying extended family will be at my parents house in Queens where the menu will be turkey and all the trimmings, Ham, stuffing, Mac and cheese, corn, and butter on rolls.

Complete heresy according to much of my family.

Yeah, were not going to my grandmothers this year because I'm tired of dealing with my count cousin. We will stop by but tired of spending my day going around to please everyone.
Sorry if that sounds grinch like, but would like to enjoy the day with just my family (Wife and Kids) this year.

We do the traditional meal for Thanksgiving. Interestingly, I've grown to like it more and more as I've gotten older. We deviate for Christmas, although doing so is not my preference.

Not until tomorrow. I’m in Brussels and have no idea what to eat, but I doubt turkey dinner is on the menu.
