There’s been lots of talk of replacing Ensminger, but that’s a far-fetched proposition. The powers that be at LSU will not allow CEO to fire Ensminger. The optics of such a move would look very bad after the Matt Canada debacle.

However, what about co- offensive coordinators? This only question is what on field coach would be fired to bring in a another OC?

Who gives a shite about Optics? What looks worse, keeping a shitty OC, or realizing you have a weakness and getting someone better...?

Not unless CSE states health concerns. Just like the kragethorpe deal with less miles. That is the only optics that would past muster.

This administration threw optics out the window when they hired Ed Orgeron. I don't think they are concerned about optics.

But, I do agree. Ensminger isn't going anywhere unless he decides to "retire" or voluntarily step down into his role as TEs coach.

Usually, along with being elite comes an ego...I don't see an elite OC wanting to be "co" with anyone else, unless it's a Freeze or Sr. Briles who has unescapable baggage at the moment. I could be wrong though.

Saban has had a new OC almost every single year during Bama’s historic run. He makes changes when they need to be made, if we don’t fire the most underachieving OC in the country then what does that say about us?

What about the 'optics' of a crappy offense. How's that look? Better than bringing in a competent OC? I disagree. Optics be damned. LSU needs to win.

I don't know of many co-OC situations in college football. Can anybody name situations where co-OCs have been successful?

My impression is that it's not ideal, but again I'm not basing that off anything concrete.

This discussion has me really intrigued. All this talk about a crappy offense, which I agree with, but the numbers tell a difference story.

Burrow is on track to pass for over 2500 yards and 13 TD. Not terrible stats for a first year qb playing in the SEC.

Brossette is on track to eclipse 1k rushing yards.

Our WRs have caught more passes and have more yards than in years past by far.

The most important stat is that we’re 9-2, despite being predicted to go 6-6 by many pundits. Yea, we got shut out by Bama, but it’s Bama. We play so tight in that game.

We were in the FL game and should have won it. To me that loss was more disappointing than the Bama loss.

True, but not other coach, but Saban is doing this.

If other teams were doing it with success, I would agree with you.

In this rationale, the GOAT is doing what the GOAT does.

My perception, uneducated or ignorant as it may be, is that Steve Ensminger will be the OC at LSU UNLESS he goes into complete hiding/witness protection/ or totally off the grid in the Yukon somehwere. Otherwise Coach Orgeron will not fire him, demote him, allow him to retire.
We ridin' baw.

Only way we're getting another OC is if Ensminger steps aside.

It's not even a matter of if the powers that be would let Orgeron fire Ensminger. He doesn't want to fire him. O thinks it's the players not executing his offense.

Yes. Win that and beat TAMU and LSU is in the playoff.

I'm actually fine with it for SE to finish out his contract.

But I think the plan needs to be to put the coOC in charge and the "co" part just be for formalities.

Then after next year, the "co" is taken out.
