Absolutely! Most on here predicted way worse. This fan base has got to get beyond that if we can’t beat Bama all is lost. News flash - nobody’s touching them this year.

Not to be that guy, but I wouldn't consider it vastly exceeding expectations. Vastly exceeding predictions? Absolutely. But with the talent on this team, I EXPECT them to go 10-2 AT THE LEAST.

People keep saying this like it’s a good thing. So a lot of people thought we would suck....that’s a reflection on the confidence in the staff after last season.. so we didn’t suck. At least not a lot. First, let’s let it play out before we decide how the season went. Secondly, it sounds like a great strategy for this staff....set the bar low- keep expectations down- 7 wins....then actually win 8 or more. Boom. We’re trending up. Brilliant. No championships or anything but you can never get fired cause you ride that “improvement rollercoaster” back and forth for years.

I know that if we win out, it's between us and UGA for the Sugar. Where does Kentucky end up if they win out? They would be 10-2 as well. Could they end up in NOLA?

Defense is great.

OL is not good, at all.
RBs are not as good as Darrel Williams, and he’s a far cry from Guice.
QB has a higher upside, but is a first year player in his first year on campus.
WRs are average.

No we don’t suck, but this team has played above it’s head this year.

The season is great. The Bama game reopened wounds of our Offense not being good. They haven't been good all season and we were winning so we were fine with it.
This. I think most would see 10-2 as a success compared to seasons past. LSU fans may not have been vocal about it and might have even said otherwise, but most expected a loss to Bama.

Otherwise, I think you were dead on in your analysis. We were all strumming along knowing that the offense wasn't there yet. I will say that from the naked eye, for the most part it's more fluid than it has been, and is more entertaining to watch, which isn't saying much because offense has a long way to go without having a Fournette or Guice in the backfield. It just so happens that with all the deficiencies - playing a team like Alabama was a disaster and brought all of the deficiencies out tenfold. I think we were all expecting a little magic to happen with the emotion taking over, and it didn't. We're all sick to death of losing to Alabama and knowing that those deficiencies are there, it was like Chinese water drop torture and a lot of us (including myself) bubbled over from the pressure.

That being said, it does not....DOES NOT....mean that we've "turned our back" on the team or hate them or that we're fair weather or any other nonsense that has been thrown around. It is what it is - the problems exist and are real and need to be taken care of. Starting with Offensive Coordinator.

Sorry for the long winded manifesto, but yes...10-2 is a success and would "save the season".

Well, it kinda is if "all" includes winning a Natty.

You’re kinda missing the point. You think it’s a good thing people thought the season would be horrible going in? That’s not where we want to be as a program...ever. That’s not where O said we would be. That’s not what he was hired for. But there was so little confidence that sitting now at 7-2 seems like a miracle. Is it? Should it be that way?

Abso-fricking-lutley. The fact that we are sitting at #7 in the nation right now is a unbelievable.

I’m certainly not guaranteeing that’s what happens, but it would be nice.

I dont think the season is "lost" so there is no reason to save it. BUT...a Sugar Bowl at 10-2 would be an incredibly successful season considering we broke in a new QB, a ton of new offensive lineman, a backfield that most felt was subpar, inexperienced WRs and no TEs.

You missed the point as to why we were figured to be average this year. Almost all of our offensive production left last year. The prognosticators saw no returning production and no recruited stars (like a Fournette) to give them any glimmer of hope.

Ed atoned for the Miss St. loss and he didn't let a Troy thing happen again, but the total domination by Bama without us showing any semblance of an offense is just stupid & ridiculous. That's why Les Miles was fired. So my answer to your question is no.

10-2 is a good season, but it masks what has been a mostly shitty offense the whole season sans the UGA game. Yet Ed O somehow thinks his OC has done an excellent job and continues to blame his players when worse teams seem to figure it out and play much better offense with less talent.

10-2 is a good season considering the schedule. 6-6 was a possibility. Anybody that's realistic would have taken 20-2 before the season

Save the season? It is not over and we are ranked 7th. Bama will skullfrick every team they play this year. While the loss to Florida sucks, the Swamp is notoriously tough to play in and I'm not sure we beat Georgia but for that loss to Florida.

11-2 and a Sugar bowl win coupled with at least a top 7 finish and this year is a success.

People just don't seem to realize that getting to 10 wins and playing in a NY6 bowl game is the best you can do outside of making the four team playoff.

frick.
