Also, I imagine the consensus is is that Dabo will come back home to Alabama, what’s the old Bear Bryant saying about when mama comes calling? But is Dabo going to want to wait another decade to come back to Bama? I can’t see Dabo wanting to wait a decade for Saban to finally quit and I can’t see Alabama having the foresight to ever let Saban go in order to maintain their longevity.

I don't think he really wants to anymore. If you had 100 million in the bank at 67, would you want to work anymore???

I think he retires sooner than later. He still enjoys life outdoors, he doesn't have many more years of that..

No I wouldn’t, but I’m not Nick Saban or Belichiek. There’s only one thing those guys truly want, and that’s to win championships. They live for that and that alone.

Another 10 years at least. The dude literal lives for this stuff. He has no desire beyond coaching and being worshipped.

I hear a lot of Bama fans mention the Dabo thing. I don't know, to me the only person that has it easier than Saban is Dabo. He's also pulling in top talent and can compete every year all while playing an easy ACC schedule. To me, he would be getting the same gig, just with a harder schedule. I honestly don't see this.

I think he coaches well past 70. I see him coaching until he's 75, at least. When he finally does start contemplating retirement, Alabama will just give him millions more to keep going.

Its because he’s an Alabama graduate, he played for Alabama, his only other coaching gig was at Alabama. He wants to go back to Alabama and will jump at the opportunity if they don’t wait too long with Saban or if (I don’t think it’s even an if at this point) Saban continues his dominance. I don’t see Bama having the foresight to get rid of an old Saban in order to continue the longevity.

He will be at Bama for at least another 10 years. There is only 1 reason he would leave any sooner. He wants another shot at the NFL. Likelihood for that is about 1%.

No he hasn’t. They don’t have to go through the West year in and year out and come out unscathed like Alabama does. Clemson is really, really good and I will cheer hard as hell for them over Alabama, and Dabo has built an incredible thing at Clemson, but they’re no Alabama.

That's what a normal, well-adjusted person would do, retire and enjoy the wealth, but...

Clemson is as close to this era of Alabama as can possibly be done.

Why would he go to Alabama and work within the framework of what saban built? LSU still does some things based off what Saban installed and it’s been almost 15 years.

I’ll give Swinney the benefit of the doubt that he’s his own man.

I dont think Mrs. Terry is walking through that door. Just saying, there's more to life than football.

Let’s say he retires after his contract is up in 2025. So we’d have to play against him 7 more times. Any chance we beat him or do we lose to him 7 more times and have a 15 game losing streak against Bama? That’s pretty crazy to have a 15 game losing streak to Bama. I mean shite, if you would have told me we were going to lose 8 straight to Bama in 2011 or 2012 I’d think you were crazy

Based on history, Alabama is going to fumble the next hire, which is a good thing.

Nah, Dabo lock.

ETA: it's not like they can get better though even with a good hire. I don't think any other team/coach in CFB will ever recruit better than the way Bama does now. It's ridiculous the talent they get in there.

I honestly don't care about that. What does it matter?? The guy knows how to win, win, win! What we need as well as every other coach that has either never beaten them or hasn't beat Bama in a while, is to procure a QB that is a "gunner", evasive in the pocket, etc. No offense to JB because I like the kid, but we all know you will NOT be able to run the ball on those Gumpers, you've got to beat them in the air. If Jalen Hurts had been the QB this year, we would have possibly won that game. Auburn beat them last year because "Tua" was not playing. Georgia got him for one quarter in the NCG, but the SECCG will be a whole different animal.
