Assuming you get 3 touchdowns, you need to get an extra 2 point conversion. Miss one you must get the next 2 tries to tie. 4th and long, no brainer, dont have to worry about 2 point conversions. But, he missed, at greater odds than making a 2 point conversation.

I think it was more about not getting shut out.

There's probably an argument in there about why you aren't a football coach then

The math doesn’t work. Stop trying to defend it.

Problem is our “coach” actually did make that call. Probably an argument in there as well...

Oh no, someone else who doesn't understand math.

It's okay to just admit Orgeron was more worried about not getting shut out than trying to win at that point.

It’s a three possession game in the 4th quarter. You kick the field goal and it’s still a three possession game in the 4th quarter.

It was an attempt at a moral victory. Anyone who attempts to defend the math behind it is clueless.

I'll admit it of it was on the very last possession. But I understand math very well. And everyone would have been crying if some miracle would have happened and we scored 3 touchdowns and 2 missed 2 point conversions.

You're down 3 possessions. If you make the FG, you're still down 3 possessions.

It makes zero sense to try the FG

Honestly, I lost a lot of respect for Ed with this call. I know he loves LSU and he wants to return us to prominence more than anybody, but it was a coward move and obviously a failed face saving measure to not get shut out at home for the second straight time.

Your team was down on themselves. Getting 3 here could at least uplift the team. Try the onside kick. If you recover, then the players will go crazy.

Yep

That decision took me completely off the bandwagon.

Granted I was hanging by a thread

Just plain indefensible.

Yeah, seriously it would’ve been nice to not get shut out AGAIN by Bama.

No, it would not.

I'd rather my coach show confidence in us to go down swinging than caring about a shut out.. Play to win, not for moral victories.

3 points didn't change the fact we would still need 3 scores.. to scoring there and actually being in the game only needing 2 more scores.

No one is talking about the fact that Mr money in the bank actually missed the attempt.
