I dare you to explain this line of thinking

That article triggered me. I went from chuckling, to rage, to REEEEEEE and back to laughing.
The article didn’t progress like that, I just went through different layers of disbelief.
It was an experience

only way to move from universal common ownership to individual private ownership is through theft.
I reject universal common ownership as an initial condition. Starting with everything belonging equally to everybody and regressively explaining acquisition of property as theft is a fallacy.
The true initial condition is that nothing belonged to anybody and ownership of things comes from force. Even now, retaining ownership of anything stops at your ability to physically defend it.

the sad reality, but this is reality

this actually is a major talking point post-WW2
moving into the post-colonial world, we have tried to reason our way out of this. it's the central theme of the Palestinian conflict. Palestine does not control anything b/c it lacks the power. it only has the perception of property due to the benevolence of Israel, which has caused all sorts of issues

Absolutism is best left to children and academics. The rest of us live in a world where what works matters.
Good in theory, but in practice, it seems like few can agree on what is working, much less what will work in the future.
I disagree when it comes to something as fundamental as private property and incentivizing capital improvement. Most people do agree that individuals working to further their own interests are a powerful engine for progress and civilization.
