Other ethnicities, for whatever reason, found it acceptable to publicly make white people their verbal punching bag.
How white people feel in response to that is completely natural. They feel they are being attacked, and I don’t blame them - they are.

There is no way you seriously and honestly believe the mainstream rhetoric towards white people hasn’t gotten worse. You know it has. You will just pretend it hasn’t for left-wing partisan reasons.

I'm not sure what you're trying to say but my point was that I don't think you were taking into account the fact that most the country identifies as white. Are you surprised that most the kitchen staff at a Chinese restaurant are Asian?
Plus, there are a dozen other factors to consider. Most of them being cultural. You imply that there's some sort of built-in bias in the system. This is not been my experience in the world, at all. The only bias I see is nepotism, which isn't necessarily based on race and meritocracism, if that's such a thing and if it is, it's desirable anyway. Merit is the correct way to reward people in society. Basically, if you're good at what you do or you have connected friends and family, you move ahead. Of course, if you're really driven and ambitious there's no better country than America for you to get ahead.
Growing up in New Orleans I've known plenty of people both white, black, Hispanic and Vietnamese that have started with nothing but because they had common sense and were ambitious and hard-working were able to build a life for themselves. Race was never a factor for any of these people.

The reason for this is because the "White" race is a non-protected class and to be portrayed as a criminal would only be viewed as discriminatory by overly sensitive little white snowflakes such as yourself. This portrayal did not lower your higher percentage of loan approval or raise your lower percentage of being arrested for the same crime. It is a false narrative that seems to have offended your delicate sensibilities.

The anti-White sentiment is pervasive now. You are pretending not to see it for political reasons.
Also, replace the word “white” with “black” in the headlines above to really get a sense for how racist it is.

I just wish the media would stop citing Twitter, and directing articles to Twitter mobs. The NY TImes Op Ed section is a classic example of this.
Most lefties I know thing PC and identity politics are a rot on their political aisle.
In fact, when polled, ~80% of the US think PC-culture and cultural Marxism is harmful (don't remember the poll, and not concerned enough to look it up.)
I find it interesting that when polled, most blacks think they are often pulled over because they are black. . .yet the poll of black people who have been pulled over by police almost all say they were breaking the law when they were pulled over. They know they were pulled over for, but Twitter and the media drives the narrative right now.
