Using overall penalty numbers is a joke. Alabama is an undisciplined team that does whatever the frick they want. Go back and watch the title when Mack Wilson slams fromms head into the turf, Raekwon Davis punching people or Rueben Fosters 700 targetings that werent called.

It's really more about "when" bama gets the calls/no calls.

Has anyone checked those numbers. If -and it's a big if - they are true, it casts doubt on the conspiracy. It will certainly be a good defense when the lawsuit goes to trial.

Perhaps LSU does get more calls than Alabama and is flagged less than Alabama. But it's the timing of the calls that go bama's way, or non-calls that go bama's way that sway some of these games in their favor.
Maybe there's been games where we are flagged 5 times compared to their 10 times. But when one of those 5 flags is some made up unsportsmanlike conduct against an offensive lineman inside the bama ten yard line, who is doing the exact same thing that 3 or 4 bama defensive linemen are doing, and it stops LSU from a chance to score a touchdown, then it becomes suspicious.
And when those kind of suspicious flags are thrown, at critical times of the game, all in favor of one team, it becomes a problem.

I just wonder why the unsportmanslike conduct penalty called on Alabama in OT in 2014 is forgotten.

This all the rebuttal that's needed. It's not the number of penalties called, it's the timing of the calls, or as often is the case, the no-calls.
