These breakdowns really illustrate how thin the margins are in the SEC. Execution isn't always perfect but it only takes 1 guy winning his match up to make or break a play on either side.

Great video. Really shows how well our O line played and how good of a job Ensminger did scheming against their defense.

On the long CEH run he missed the safety running up to cover which left the middle of the field open.

Well said. One misstep, one lean the wrong way even can mean the difference between stop for loss or a 20 yard gain.
On a side note, I love the Georgia fans complaining about the overthrown passes from Fromm but never mention the 2 wide open TD passes that Burrow overthrew. LSU did more of the little things right and Georgia did not. Period.

On two of those highlights Deculus gets beat to the inside; hopefully that gets corrected.

I think Dec needs to see that while a particular play may call for a combo block before releasing to the next level, the alignment of the D player could change that.
On those 2 plays he kind of goes a step or 2 out of his way to combo and then doesn’t have the speed to recover.
If the D player is already aligned in a favorable position, he should allow the TE to take the block (maybe wait a split second to ensure that block is made) and release straight to the next level.
Even if he just holds his ground for a second to ensure the TE can seal the guy, he’d save himself from having to recover a few steps in the wrong direction.

The specific breakdown of the play is hard to notice during the excitement of watching the game. But that was a really good look and a good play by Burrow in the two plays where he held the safety in the middle of the field and then looked off him to complete the pass. Didn't telegraph the play by watching his receiver and leading the safety into him.
I know he's not lighting up the stat box, but those are the kind of crucial intangibles we've seemingly lacked. I look for Burrow to keep getting better.

What happened to him on Supertalk MS? It’s about the only sports show I can pick up on the radio where I live.

I enjoy seeing someone take the time to do this.

Dec was still was still tied up with his 1st block and the DB pulled into the line quickly when he diagnosed CEH was coming with the ball...luckily CEH was able to side step and fight through that tackle and see daylight....
