The year TM has in 2011 was just incredible. Not sure that will ever be matched.
I’m a huge Delpit fan and he’s is definitely a more prototypical NFL DB, but as good as he’s been, he is nowhere close to 2011 Matthieu.
Remember TM scores multiple defensive TDs not just on kick returns.

Honeybadger changed entire trajectory of games in 2011. Ark and UGA come to mind.
more games than that.
just most happened earlier in games so don’t get as much credit. But the floodgates always seemed to open after he did his thing.
Oregon, WVU were games where he made a big play early and got thing going.

TM7 is the most electric college football player I’ve ever seen. He was a friggin Heisman Robalist his sophomore year.

I know people don't like to compare the two but that fake field goal stop is definitely a play that the honey badger would've made.
you idiots need to stop with this comparison.
I love Delpit, but he's not Mathieu.
What Mathieu did against WVU is prime example of why he was so special.
Gets beat on a throw, rips the ball out the WR's hand when trying to tackl him and the ball someone lands in his belly after violently trying to rip it out. Pure luck.
Rushes the QB, QB throws a quick WR screen, guns it, Mathieu jumps and swats down at the ball from about 10 feet from the QB as the ball is being fired right at him, with one hand, and the ball somehow floats in the air after he swings so he can easily catch it and almost score a TD.
Never seen a player make luck his bitch like Matheiu did.

I don’t think I’ve seen another player with a nose for the football quite like TM.

Delpit is getting there but as a pure playmaker tyrann was that on a team that had PP2, Mo17 and the rest of that defense for 2 years. He was unbelievable I hope I see another talent like that at LSU before i leave this earth
